I Have a VXS-91TXH pioneer and I hope it doesn't ever get that bug I see
the 92s and 94s get.

I've been re-wiring my stuff since I got a hdmi2rgb device,and I realize receivers with s-video
are gone, phono input I knew has been abandoned for awhile.
I also realize Pioneer abandoned AC-3 support, even in the highest of highs.

I still have my original RCA SFT-400 and a D605 pioneer.
I got a Yamaha DDP1 when they first came out and got a D505 because my CLD1070
had no AC_3 output.

I discovered playing with my CLD1070 that most or all players had the access for AC3
and didn't need a $350 conversion.
With a resister and cap put in the right audio path AC_3 was available on most players.
Also, most it not all have digital output available, using the same resister and cap
I've added digital out to all my older players.

I still use my DDP1 but since I have only 1 set of direct inputs on the Pioneer
I added the same resister and cap to the DDP1 at a very tight spot where the demodulated
signal enters the decoder.
It's a coax digital out that I route to the receivers coax in,and let the receiver decode
instead, eliminating the multichannel input and using that for DVD-A/SACD player.

I did recently pull my Beta and VHS out of the system but still have units in another room
working until they cease operation.

I feel like a dinosaur , I was considering a Harmon Kardon(like the look) but I see
HDMI is the "NewWorldOrder" to protect the "precious" content.

I could modify but I've grown tired of trying to out run obsolescence.

I know the needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few-the one.
