Have a customer that needs a Dallas chip change, but he doesn't know how to reconverge.

I personally haven't used the Sony software to save and reload the Dallas chip. I thought I read years ago that it was flaky, but maybe not.

Anyone use it regularly? Any concerns? Anything needed other than a stock serial cable?

Thanks!

Not sure I understand the reconverge bit. Shouldn't be any need to reconverge. My data was copied by FrankD using an EEPROM reader/writer via a PC. Copy Dallas chip file to PC, install new chip to reader and copy file back. No flaky Sony program involved.

Right, but the customer is far away and he nor I need a reader. That's why I want to know if the program works, so he can load the new Dallas chip that I'll send him by himself at his end.
