I can remove the ringing, no problem, think the problem was that i put retrace to short before, now its long, but then its harder to center the image. and takes a lot more underscan and H front need to get up.
My raster is inside the tubes and close to the border, so is my picture, no problem there. I'm sure that another scaler with higher bandwidth, will make porch settings much easier. DVDO
Just checked the VP50pro.. same same.. actually i don't see much difference anywhere, exept it is performing worse and got more firmware bugs.
Now i know how to address that problem.. Thank you all for helping with that one.
Now i need to get the banding kicked out of this machine..
Then i see there is 3 new belows and red c element on its way, so i will soon get the pleasure of taking my 9500 apart and get that old dirty glycol changed.
Wonder if i should change the old glycol in the tubes ???

If you use long retrace you will loose quite a bit of the picture; short retrace is what you should be using if you don't want to cut off part of the image. See this thread regarding porch adjustment: https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=30142.html

You need to have the latest firmware on the dvdo to go above the dreaded 165mhz bandwidth problem.

I have the latest firmware on both VP50 and VP50pro.I guess its working as well as all the other features DVDO promised
If you know of any firmware version working, i would love to have a link.

Thanks dturco...
I have spent all day testing different ways of feeding the Vidikron. And for sure i need to run 72hz, but its not without cost as my chain looks now. I loose some depth and sharpness in the picture running 72hz, but i really hope that will change with the Moome V3 vim card.
And its really annoying messing around with the limits of the VP50 when setting up 72hz
How much contrast/ Drive is max before those 9500 tubes will feel pain.?

I'm messing around with my calibration, and tried calibrating gray scale with contrast and brightness both set to 50.
but its not working for me.. i can make a nice gray scale for sure, but 50 is around 6fl on my screen.. not good for anything, so if i put contrast around 70 getting 11fl, my gray scale is way off.. blue will get lost.
So i like making my gray scale at the light output I'm going to use.. does that sound to crazy.?
And whats normal or considered max. Contrast settings ? so i don't destroy my tubes.?

1600hours.
My screen is 16-9
79" wide, gain 1.0
60= 9 fl
65= 10,8 fl
70= 12,7 fl
But thats with green drive set to 95 and G2 73
Brightness 48
so it was set to 65 sorry..

G2 on new tubes in new projectors is usually around 60 or 62; your green tube is 2/3s "gone" and that explains the reduced light output.
That is pretty weird for a 1600 hour machine; are there huge standby hours? Guns will wear a bit in standby.
At G2 of 80 a tube is shot.

This is same tube different calibration 9,6fl
DVDO TEST PATTERN
DVDO Gamma 1.1 PC level 0-255 HD Furry 3
WHITE LEVEL = USER SETTING
RD 17
R G2 67
GD 60
G G2 66
BD 21
B G2 67
Brightness 50
Contrast 66
So i'm a bit confused.. it seems that everythings connected, one calibration tells me that the tubes is great the other they are almost done.
Is there not a guideline to measured light at the lense at a fixed contrast brightness drive and G2 ?
I have 3130 fl at the green lens..

Is there anyone that have a HCFR calibration files from a 9500 with Lumagen correction, that they are willing to share with the rest of the world.?

Another person's calibration files or settings cannot be used as every projector and setup is different. If there was only one correct set of values then they wouldn't be adjustable in the first place.

i'm not interested in the settings, but to see how the RGB and gamma curves look like when calibrated with a lumagen.

Any CRT HCFR calibration files, with lumagen correction will be interestin, and if anyone have before and after measurements that would be great.
