Pawn shop has a Runco DTV 940 for 25 bucks. My cousin wants to buy it and I have no clue what it is. Build date says 2001. I know that to be bull****. It looks like a 947 I recently got rid of. But what would make it a cine 7 vs. a 7xxx? What is the difference?

cine 7 casing is either silver or black (later version). The lens are color filtered and corrected, if you look into the lens, you can see the green and red c element. 708 do not have.

The picture on both is 99% if not 100% the same. So don't bother which is which for 25 bucks.

not bad Smile
It is funny that barco equipped their late 7" ES sets with HD145 lenses, but the cine 8 was equipped with HD-8, which is worse than the HD-145...

You can't always go by date. My 708 has a build date of January 2002, which is past the believed end of production for the 708 series. The info screen shows it to be a BD708S. Has P16 tubes and the exact same menus as the Cine7. And the real kicker, the part number for the projector isn't listed anywhere.
