Cranking up the contrast and/or the brightness does any difference looking in to the lenses? Does the end of the tubes glowing when you open up the deflection board?

Im just wondering if you have H and V around the right way... When you turn on the source, do you hear some clicking on the DEF board??

Reseat all the boards for a start, check all the connections, then see what you can get with no signal going in at all.

Then try pressing 2 on the remote, pressing 1 will give you S-Video and compost video... 6s dont come with the board for that in most cases so im led to believe, so press 2 and then if you still get nothing, press 3 and wait a minute...

I did not find any button on my full remote to cranking up the contrast or brightness, can you tell me how?

Yes, the all 3 tubes end glowing a little red when I turn it on.

Yes, I am 100% sure H and V is hooked up correctly, that is the first thing I double checked.

I can hear a very clear clicking sound when I switch between 1 and 2. (not so much between 2 and 3)

I get nothing out of the tube with source or without source.

End of tube is glowing, but when I look into the lens, I can not see any difference between unit is off or on.

to adjust brightness and contrast hit 'pic func' on full remote you get brightness press up for a while, and watch if anything changes in the lens (press 'pic func' again to toggle contrast again press up) if this is not helping then you probably have bad boards OR some funny people turned G2 off (probably not the case)

I tried what you suggested, did not help.

I have 3 mint condition units now, what are the odds, all 3 acting the same way because of the bad boards.

Based on the conditon of the remote and how clean it is inside (especially the fan blade), I am guessing all of them can not used (or turned on) for very long time.

Any other suggestions I can try.

Thank you all.

Share us your location, and hopesomeone has a working PG+ pj near to you, so you can start to swap boards to find out which is wrong (my guess is the video out board), then send it to Curt. Without measuring equipments and electrical knowledge you can't step forward..

Been thinking about this, and no matter what, you should be able to turn on any NEC projector, with or without an input signal, and get menus when you press almost any remote button.

I am at the very northern part of VA (a little over 1 hour west of DC)

I do have some measuring equipments and a master degree in electrical engineering. (so basically enough to move forward a little more at this point)

Should that trigger an error code? I got 00 in display right now.

Is there an easy way to check this?

What are the odds all 3 units suffer the same problem if you have to take a guess.

I am guessing it is doing it, but I just can not see it (with no tube giving out any light)

Not sure you can see this clear enough or not, but the fan is very very clean (almost like brand new)

When I check out a used pc, I can usually tell how many hours it has been on by looking at the cooling fan.

Yes, they come from the same guy (one of the usda office)

They do come in original box, with remote and ceiling kit.

I can not tell if a board is missing or not, but I have 00 showing in the back, will a missing board trigger some kind of error code.

Here are two pictures for the inside, one is running, one is in stand by, you can tell the difference by looking at the fan.

Would be happy to take more pictures, just let me know what part you want to see.
