I've got my projector all lined up and have the static convergence perfect, but when I plug in a video input to my projector (through Onkyo A/V switcher), all of the static convergence settings go away. Why is this? I can then reset my static while watching say a movie on the projector, but if I switch inputs on my Onkyo, again the static convergence gets all wacky. Any ideas?

This is the normal operation. You have to set up the convergence for EVERY input source independently and store it.

Yes.
You should have the input youll most likely use running at the time, then with centered rasters align mechanically, then go from there.
The static should be at or VERY close to zero anyway, you should be using the raster centering to center the rasters on the tube face, and then center the test paterns within that using the PHASE option.
As Gjaky says, you have to create an entry for every single different resolution and refresh rate. That is how it is.
How long have you had this projector?
