I am putting together a vintage Pioneer Series 20 audio system and I am looking for a pair of speakers that would sonically and aesthetically be a good match with the equipment. I would prefer new speakers but if there are some suggestions for some high end vintage ones that would work as well.
By the time I get the system put together it will cost around $7000 for the equipment itself, speakers not included. I would like to keep the pair of speakers around $2000.
The series 20 amplifiers (M-22 and M-25) are Class A, and Class AB amplification, they are both rated from 30khz to 20hz @.0003THD @ 1khz signal 4-8 ohm load.
although the human hear cannot hear up to 30khz, I would like the selection of speakers to be able to cover as wide of a frequency range as possible, preferrably something that can get as close to 20hz for the low end and at least 24khz for the high end.
I have selected the Jamo C809 tower speakers for one option, but I would like to hear what your ideas are? Remember, aesthetics are somewhat important with this setup so no DIY suggestions (I am not good at finishing furniture or boxes )

What's the power rating of the amps? Want to keep the speakers in the same decade as the amps, or does it matter?

The rating on each amp is:
M-22 30 Watts per Channel, Class A Amplification
M-25 120 Watts per channel, Class AB Amplification
If there is a nice vintage pair you have in mind, I wouldnt have a problem considering it. I am mainly concerned with the frequency range of the speakers, and that they are in nice aesthetic condition.

Also, I would prefer Bi-ampable speakers (obviously with 2 amps )

Well you can't hear anything over 16K. But I know what you mean.
A few options:
-top of the line 1980s technics, the ones that are time aligned.15" woofer I think?
-Electrovoice Interface Ds
-Any 'pro' EV or JBL speaker, you can put in an electronic crossover and create a 2 way system.

Those technics sound interesting, do you have a model number for them?
JBLs are always an option too, but I wanted to see if there was anything else worth considering over something thats as well known as JBL... afterall, some of the best speakers are the ones you've never heard
I did check the EVs out, some interesting ones on ebay, but not the ones you mentioned
