If your color is yellow try increasing your blue gain, you can't actually set greyscale accurately by eyeballing it as your eye brain will try to compensate for some errors. Best is to have some equipment or a light source comparator.
if you want to set it by eye then i suggest you put up a 0IRE black field and look into the lens, make sure the red green blue are light up equally, next put on a 100iRE white field and check that your white look like the white of the daylight aka sunlight (you need experience). The problem with G70 is once you have the gain and bias set accurately, there is a tint around the lower mid grey scale 20-50IRE which cannot be set accurately as it does not have red, blue gamma adjustment. what you can do is to compensate with the bias or gain but you can never truly achieve a flat greyscale across the range unlike a Barco cine9/max.

De-focus blue a little.

At HD frequencies I don't believe any auto de-focus is applied.

De-focusing blue will increase light output and help tame the blue hump (blue saturation).

red of componant connection was disconnected! Embarassed im embarassed that i didnt assume that from the beginning. back on the g2 adjustment, im still a little unsure about my settings. i defaulted gain and bias(is it possible to change what the default is), defaulted brightness and contrast, turned g2 all the way down and raised until the horizontal bars where just visable. the value was almost max. then whent through gain and bias adjustments and rechecked greyscale, blue hump was worse than before. am i doing something wrong, i feel like theres something more i can do with g2 settings to get better results. i know my 1252 had better greyscale but i was feeding it with a htpc and was able to adjust gamma in video card. is this the key?

I have the latest firmware so I can't adjust G2.

That being said the only way I found to get good grey scale and delta-E without a video processor was to turn down Contrast. I have it set to 60-65 on my machine.

Its a trade-off, loss of light output for improved contrast ratio, greyscale, and delta-E

well i dropped contrast a good bit, but blue bump is better and things are much better. i guess i shouldnt get my feeling hurt because i have to drop contrast? Did i not have this problem with my 1252 because i was feeding it rgbhv and could correct gamma via video card in htpc?

I'm assuming yes because of the video card.

I'm running a HTPC also. But I found too much tampering with the video LUT would cause weird shading or banding so I keep video card adjustments to a minimum.
