Well, the motherboard is out of a BG808s, so the 909 boards will not work, as the layout of the motherboard is totally different.

I agree, the neck board CRT socket part will be different from the BG808s. My guess is a 1209s neck board, I want to pull the video amps and check the frequency response of them to see if they are the same as a BG808s or 1209s.

IN talking to a tech from Sweden yesterday that knows the 909 and 808 inside out, he says that the most important part are the tubes and lenses. With LUG tubes and HFQ 900 lenses, the performance of these split packs comes very close to the 909. THe 909 is a bit more problematic than the 808 chassis, so while you lose a bit of adjustments (electronic astig zones and more zone convergence) that the 909 has, you gain more reliability from the 808 chassis.

So a WIN WIN situation. Parts supply and cost is why I've deliberately avoided these high end Barco's.

Yep, pretty much. For those that don't want a splitpack, I'm also offering to put the boards and tubes/llenses into a Barco 1209s chassis, I've got about 5 of them here. Same price, $4500.

One of my friend have three reality 909 and would to make a stack system (two projectors). Two of these split packs could solve many installation problems.

My question was pretty no correct.
I know that the hardware of the 909 is totally different of the 808.
I imagine also that the "electronic box" of the 909 split pack is greater than 908/809.

We wanted to know if the hardware of the split packs is exactly the same as the corresponding traditional versions.
Is there any difference? If so, which one?

split pack 809/908 ---> 808s/cine8 ???
split pack 909 ---> Reality 909 ???

I probably won't have time to post more pix until I get back from my trip, but from my quick look, the hardware is the same.

Also from what I know, the second number of a Barco model number is the tube size, so:

split pack 809 -> 808 electronics, 909 tubes
split pack 908 -> 909 electronics, 808 tubes
split pack 909 -> 909 electronics and tubes.
