So im at home and my son decided to watch monsters vs aliens on bd. It has a short film in special features that is 3d and came with the green and res 3d glasses. I put on the glasses and watched the short film and it was pretty decent. It wasn't like the 3d tvs you see at the stores but it worked. The color was off because of the colored filters but other than that I thought it was pretty good. Where do I find more content like this and why isn't this a more viable solution to 3d without having to replace my current setup. Anybody agree or disagree?

There is a few DVD movies ive seen like this too. I havent tried one myself.

The manufacturers won't make as much money unless they can sell you the latest shiny thing, that is why although they have the technology for hologram projection and have had it for many years, they sold the 3D TV that required shutter glasses then the 3D TV that used the passive glasses, now they are selling the 3D TV that doesn't need any glasses.
That's the throw away society for you.

If you use PowerDVD with htpc it can convert any 3D film to anagliph version
|

It's called anaglyph 3D. There are very few movies like this. I have a few:
Coraline (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo w/ Anaglyph 3D)
Journey to the Center of the Earth [Blu-ray] (2008)
The Polar Express Presented in Anaglyph 3-D [Blu-ray] (2004)
There are few movies because (IMHO) it looks like crap. It destroys all colour (everything has pink, green, or blue glow to it) and the 3D effect is sub-par and doesn't work very well with larger TV/projectors. I always choose to watch the regular 2D version.

I agree. It looks like crap.
The last 3D I watched at home was the Monsters & Aliens commerical. I think it during or after a recent Superbowl.
