Yep, I think you nailed it. I've got buckets of neck boards here, I'll send you a couple of the later/other design without R22. I've replaced R22 in a bunch of the sets, and haven't had an issue, but to be safe here, I'll send you the other design.
Send me your address again to my home email. I've got an Ampro 2000 on the bench right now, so I'll test boards and ship tomorrow.

When the heater shorts to the cathode it turns that tube full on. Alot of times it is just for a second or two. It causes the remote to display "Hi Beam Current" and shuts the projector off. You might turn the projector back on and all will be well. If it happens enough R22 eventually toasts. I don't remember what the symptoms are, though. The mod to fix it is simple enough. Lift the end of R1 that DOESN'T connect to the cathode pin of the tube socket and connect a parallel circuit of 100K 1/2W and 1N4004 (or 4005,6,7) from R1 to PCB. Anode toward R1. Check the pics. R22 burning up plagued Ampro until this fix came along.

Found another anomaly:
There's a big black tuning pot on the top of each tube. The green and the blue are down and the red one is sticking up. What are these used for and should I be worried?

The tuning coils are to make the picture width the same on the three colors. Turn off the registration and make them the same width or as close as you can. Use a plastic tuning tool. Just about guarantee that a metal allen wrench will crack the slug.

Where might one get such a plastic tool? Because I definately didn't use a metal one on my marquee and crack the slug. Nope, not me sir.

Got the replacement neck cards. Seems one has a streaking problems and the other has diagonal lines when there is no signal present. I swapped tubes and got the same result.
The tuning pot pictured above is already cracked. The little core piece seems to be sitting there. DOH! Where can I find one of those? I need to widen the rasters there's about an inch not used on one side and 1/2 inch on the other.

Go to Radio Shack. Buy the 5 piece TV alignment set #64-2220.
The green one fits that core. How do I know? Just a guess? NOPE, I have them both in front of me

I touched it with my fingers and it seems it WAS just sitting there. It fell off. DAM.
I thought of radio shack first. I'll pick up a set. Thanks for the part number.
Anyone got a core I could get off them?

Without the core makes the widest picture. You might be able to take the core from the color with the narrowest picture and put it in the coil on the widest picture. Otherwise, it's not worth worrying too much about. Those coils have a small range. Get it as close as you can then use size and lin functions to get the width even.

Do you have any idea on the streaking or banding on the neck boards? They are the newer type without the R22 resistor. Stangely enough only 2 have isues. Hmmm I wonder if they got knocked around in shipping....

Do a 4[test] and with a genlocked test pattern play with your self I mean the blanking to see if it goes away. Move the blanking to extremes shows the anomoly. (back it all the way out) mostly left and right.

OK stefuel, I've finished playing with it. You are corect. The blanking fixed the vertical line problem. the straking is still there though and so are the diagonal lines.
I notices also the red did NOT respond to the blanking at all. Wierd.
Sorry about the focus on the green the camera refused and I'm to tired to argue.
I bumped the G2 up just to take the photo of the red. It's there even when the G2 is adjusted for black level.

I think what you are seeing with the red is a issue with top/bottom blanking. The fact that the red does not respond to blanking controls may be a clue to resolving that. I forget which board does the blanking. Perhaps Scott can help you with that.
