It's like a Barco, there's too much pin or key top and bottom. Try backing off on those towards the 50% mark and see which one causes the line to go away.

No (not a secret) - He compared a Barco to an (gasp) Ampro.

I am now so upset that I may have to leave work. Smile

Ok I'll try again. I've run the set up 5 times so far. The last three I set up were for:

480P off the line doubler
1024x768@60Hz off the HTPC
1440x960@60Hz off the HTPC

All three ended up with the line, but I will try again. At least I'm learining something. The way Barco uses these codes is kind of interesting.

Is that any worse than you stripping an Ampro to put the( now contaminated with Ampro coutties) tubes in the Barco? Wink

Doesn't that make it a BarAmp or a AmpCo?

Ok this horizontal black line is bugging me. It COMPLETELY disappears when I turn of the registration (55 CODE). I tried resetting the channel to 50% across the board but it didn't help. Even with all the Key and pin at 50% there's a black line across the picture.

Incova sent me this:

Just finished my cinema room in the attic. I've got the 801 on the ceiling projecting on to a 8ft screen. I've got an Iscan pro connected. Problem is a line across the centre of the screen. Any thoughts?
Thanks

I had a horizontal line on a barco 808s......thin black line right thro the centre of picture....see crtprojectors.co.uk FAQ on barcos...its due to maladjustment of bow on top and bottom of pic...pic is made of 2 halves joined horizontally and you are seing the "gap"...
absolutly the bow is over adjusted. Just check all your settings anything to extreme on a crt like 80 % to correct something means that you may cause problems, i try and keep everything as close to 50% settings on the barco so nothing is stressed, tube or electronics. Yours is es I assume you have knobs or some other means of adjustments, try anything to get the line away no matter what it does to distort the screen then work backwards to see what causes the line.

good luck mate.

Does the Ampro do the same soft of thing? Is it treating the picture as two half's top and bottom? If so how can I make the two overlap with the registration on? Is there an adjustment pot on the registration board or something?

Thanks
Jeremy

Which registration bd do you have? There should be a little sticker with a 8XXXX number on it. I might be able to find something on it. There probably is a pot to adjust.

OK Scott, the number is 80833. The 65298 REV A on the circuit board and beside the 80XXX sticker there's a 2nd sticker that says 5309-07.

Thanks.

Let me just make sure this is the right board Scott. It's the one right next to the power supplies?? It has two little pots on the back for the vertical postioning of the red and blue rasters. Is this the right board?

Let me send you a new reggie board and the convergence output board. Email me the two numbers (6XXXX) to my home address. I didn't see the issue here, but I didn't see the HVPS/LVPS ones either..Smile

The board that is circled is the vertical deflection. Your registration bd is in the big black box toward the front of the pj. It sounds like Curt is going to help you out. That's your best bet. These old projectors will come up with problems when you start using them after they sit unused for a while. Once all the problems are worked out they should work fine for a long time.

Ok thanks for the clarification Scott. I was going by the 4600 layout tips on the website.

Hey Curt, you ever going to do a board labeling picture for the 4000? It would make things a little easier for me. Smile

Ok I'll make things easier for you. Can you please fill in the blanks 1, 2 and 3?

EDIT: Here's the updated pic for reference

One more thing. I think it might be cable related. I get fast horizontal lines that roll up the picture quikly. They change thickness when I went from 60Hz to 72. Is this a cabling problem?

That might be a ground loop. Try lifting (breaking) the ground pin off the Ac cord and see if they go away.
