I figure Curt will be OK with this, as I'm pretty sure this won't be costing him a sale...

Whether you are in a family room or conference room, this projector is an excellent addition for your presentation needs. Bright enough to use with the lights on that is perfect for movies, gamers, churches, classrooms, etc. This projector is originally retailed $60,000, and used good condition goes for $9000. I am selling this for only $4800 or best offer!!!. Hook it up to your computer, laptop, PS3, XBOX 360, DVD Player, cable or satellite HDTV and much more. The VPH-D50HTU Multiscan Projector is loaded with features, such as a Pre-Installed Line Doubler and Direct Video Memory Selection. The unit has a unique White/Gray color cabinet design that will blend beautifully with any ceiling or room decor.

Wow, he's selling it for ONLY $4800 or best offer!!!

I looked the guy up, and he didn't seem shady or like somebody that would intentionally mislead, so I sent him a nice, simple email a couple of days ago to let him know what the original MSRP actually was, and that the real value was probably in the $200-500 ballpark in used, as-is condition. I never heard back, and the listing is still the same. If it hasn't changed in a day or two, then the only logical conclusion is that he wants to rip somebody off.

I have too many balls in the air right now as it is, but somebody should have some fun with this.

Sure are a lot of delusional folks out there.... and suckers who might pay that amount.

The description is great and leads one to believe he never actually used the projector. Can be used with the lights on, perfect for a church or classroom, beautiful unique white, grey case (same as all the other Sony CRT models) etc etc.....

Even with the internets, there's a zillion people that don't do research... me included. Smile

To the owner, he probably paid $25K installed for it, so selling it for 20% of retail would seem reasonable to him.

Mate it with the free one on avs, and then you've really only paid $2400 per set. Smile

Yes, my name is Earnest, and I have a D50 to sell at more than ten times the normal market price.

Wow, if a D50 is worth $4800, I wonder what my G70 is worth?!!!??!!?!

That seller is near me. I emailed him politely suggesting he review his pricing. Never replied to me.

Here's another near me to. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/ele/2865705766.html

Saw this the other day too. Wanted to offer him 5% of his price, but figured that would be just too rude....

I don't know... If you're offering to buy at something close to REAL market value, while he's offering the item for sale at something close to TEN TIMES market value, who's being rude?

Seriously, somebody email the both of them and offer $250. I'd be curious to see the response.

I can understand being a little unrealistic on your pricing - that's fine. When people email you with no personal interest for no other reason than to help, my sympathy kind of stops.

That's two sellers with completely ridiculous sale prices, both completely ignoring emails from people offering their expertise and information, but who obviously are either willfully ignorant, or willfully deceptive. I'd say if you ignore an email with good information, it starts to look more like deception than ignorance. Basically, it starts looking like the seller is simply trying to screw some unsuspecting individual.
