The 9PG has its HD-6 lenses, and this XG has HD-144s on it. Lucky i made a huge mount when i installed the PG, should be plenty of range there even when i decide to put in some new tubes... |
I don't know if this is your first set of 144s, but they are some awesome lenses. I found they were a pretty big improvement over the 6s.

Yes mate first set ive seen. I have seen HD-145s before though. The 144s must have a fair bit shorter throw distance, more than i expected, which doesnt matter too much. These 144s i got with this rig are pretty near pristine too, best condition ive ever seen. Only 2 very minor surface scratches on them, coatings perfect, the lot. My HD-6s are pretty good as well, but not this good.

Runco is up, those tubes will certainly do the job for a while yet. Ill get some more for spares to use later though.
Havent done the electronic astig or corner/edge focus yet, but no doubt its sharper than a PG allready.
Cheers to Aussie Al for his help, we pulled down the PG, put up the XG, pulled down the VPH-1001 QM, put up the PG... The use of a transmission jack makes lifting and lowering very easy
