Gang -
In my quest to get rid of as many stick-on IR emitters as I can, I've encountered a little bump. I have a Buffalo IR-100 IR repeater and want to run a wire from the emitter jack into my Oppo BRP-83's rear control input. Can someone review my sketched schematic at the bottom of the attached image?
I found info at this link http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-touch/thread.cgi?2806 where he went from mono to stereo. I just want to cut a stereo...and re-splice.
Also, I'm guessing also that if I have signal and ground at the buffalo backwards, no biggie, just switch them and all will be well...?
Thanks!
Matt, surprised by the variety of [IR In/Control In/SR In, etc] options there are...just had no idea.

To answer my own Q, using a stereo/3-wire hookup I:
1) From the buffalo-100 tip (signal) to the OPPO BRP-83 Ring
2) From the buffalo-100 sleeve to the OPPO BRP-83 sleeve
3) Terminated the buffalo ring (though would be same as ground/sleeve)
4) Terminated the Oppo BRP-83 tip. This seems important as it carries +5VDC and should not be allowed to short to ground, etc.
Success!
Matt
