I have entire seasons of TV shows in transport Stream 1080i MPEG2 format. I'm in the process of editing the commercials out.
Should I deinterlace them before trying to make a Bluray disk?
Has anyone tried this?
Advice?

Jeremy,
There is no need to re-encode the files (which you'll need to do if you try to convert to 1080p). If you use a tool like VideoReDo, you can edit your commercials, and leave the rest of the video intact and unprocessed. It's fast and easy. The only frames that will be re-encoded are those frames between your edit, and the next I-frame.
