I sent a PM to nzryan a few days ago, but got no response, so I assume he has dropped the idea.

I'll wait to see if he later responds to your PM. If not within a reasonable amount of time, I still have a set of boards here that I'll modify and will then post pictures of the process. But first let's make sure he's giving up on this.

I asked the same question to him a few weeks ago, and he responded to me. He basically said that he hadn't chased down the image problems he had developed on his projector after the mod. He indicated it worked great for sometime, but the problem then developed. He also said that recently, he was able to chase down the problem (mostly), and was still in the process of figuring out if the problem was due to the mod. He said he had parts ready for the mod, and that he was hoping to have it ready soo, and that he'd contact me and make a post when it was ready.

Not sure what his outcome was, but if the problem was mod related, it could only be the type of transistor being used as a replacement. I had a similar problem using that same transistor in another one of my mods. I had to use a different transistor from the one I also used in the NEC mod. If it was another problem, it must have been related to board work or the board itself.

First chance I get I'll modify this set of boards I have here, and maybe it would make sense if he could choose someone I cold send them to for evaluation on this end of the globe. I'll need to hear from him on this of course, because the board will have to eventually go to him. I'm only trying to be a help in making sure this moves forward.

Sounds great, even exciting mike. Not sure if you recall me contacting you about the nec mod? I'm cliff from Rockville.
Eitherway, hope all works out, and if you need a close by tester, I'm not far.

Well, he hasn't posted in a year and hasn't visited since Jan. I would say he is not going to do anything.

Since you're in Rockville and you have (I think) the same board that I've already modified. Maybe you could either send me your board or bring it to me and I'll make the changes to it for you.

That way we can still make this happen for those still interested. Shoot me a PM!
