For denon to be such an expensive receiver the A/C portion of this manual really suck. I need to to trace back again for a board number. On this board locate CX076. Trace that back to its transformer and then from there to the 3638-8 board connector number, if thats were it goes.

On the CX076 that traces to another small transformer right near the other small one we were just on, from that transformer it traces back to 3638-8 to the connection "SUB" or CX922

Ok. DMM on diode scale. On the wire harness(if thats what it is) that was connected to CX054, I need you to test between pins 3 and 4.

You mean .600?
So much for the easy stuff. Locate FB405 and remove it. Reconnect CX054 and get me the D/C on pins 4 and 3 again. Also get me a reading on pin 2 using pin 4 as gnd.

I have to assume .600 but there is no point on the screen, but this DMM isnt exactly the greatest thing on the planet, Ill do that quick and get back

Pins 3 and 4 on vdc read 2.25, on diode it doesnt read anything,
pins 2 and 4 on vdc reads 4.33

Something funny is going on here. You still have FB405 removed, correct? Also remove FB406 and reconnect cx054 and give me pins 3 and 4 D/C.

Ok, we have a couple ways to go here. Do you have a small power supply (wall wart) that has a DC output of +5vdc or slightly larger and at least 250ma?

That will work. Now you will not be plugging in the receiver for this.
CX054 is disconnected. Connect the supply to the harness. + goes to pin 3, - to pin 4. I also need you to have your DMM connected to these same pins and set to DC.
Also make sure your supply is putting out at least 6vdc before you connect it. After it's all connected, plug in the supply and tell me what your reading is.
Also, if the reading stays around 6vdc see if the red standby led is on.

I did everything as you said, and the reading is at 2.53vdc,
the red standby LED is not lit

Damn, looks like we are off to the CPU board.
Put those FB's back in and reconnect everything and re verify your 2.whatever volts at pins 3 and 4 with the receiver plugged in.
I have to look over these prints. Now the real fun begins. I guess we know why the last tech couldn't fix it....LOL............
