If I had to bet $50. I would bet PolyCarb. I am fairly certain it's not polyacrylate because acrylic absorbs moisture and swells. The c-element looks and cuts/sands like PC

3m responded in a mail that,
a: don`t know the answer to my question and that production of the elements took place outside europe (don`t know what that has anything to do with it).
b: they cannot give that specific info.

so whether they don`t know it, or don`t want to share, is a mystery to me.

My guess is that they don't want to share that info. I'm sure its readily available somewhere in their systems.

Did you contact the specific division that used to make them? I thought those were made in Cincinnati, Ohio? In the lens sticky thread, there is an attachment that directs you to the webpage of the 3M guys that used to make them. If you call them direct, you may get someone that would be willing to help.

Either that, I have two clears I'm not doing anything with, if someone wants to send it out to a materials lab for analysis. I'm willing to donate one to the cause.
