I want to get a EXT-FULLHD V3 3D: Universal HDMI 1.4 and was wondering if this would be compatible with my PJ and HTPC.
I have a Nvidia GT240 card in my HTPC and wanted to use RF glasses with a RF emitter, http://www.curtpalme.com/RFGlasses.shtm. I needed the Nvidia card as Powerstrip does not support newer chipsets from the 5000 6000 series cards from AMD so I could no longer play with the porch settings.

These are the specs for the PJ, I can do 1080p on it if I use powerstrip on the porches, but not sure if I can do 720p 3d, could you advise on this?

Ampro 4600 9" LC

720p,

1080i,

1080p

100 MHz bandwidth.

My intention is to have the chain as HTPC Win 7 Powerdvd 11(GT240) to EXT-FULLHD V3 3D with RF emitter and Glasses to Ampro 4600 HD.

I have asked Moome directly but I thought I should get some opinions on here as well, thanks

well I have a similar chain in work:

HTPC (Win 7, PowerDVD10 MarkII) with Nvidia GTS 450 (HDMI 1.4a) --> HDMI --> Moome EXT V3 --> RGB --> Sony 1292
--> Emitter G2 -> Nvidia shutter glasses

The chain works fine beside some ghosting issues at the bottom of the screen. I suppose that your configuration is
going to work if it is possible to connect the emitter of the RF-glasses into the EXT V3 box. This works for universal IR emitters like Gen2 but I can't say if the RF-emitter is compatible with the sync signal provided by EXT V3.

Cheers!

Thanks Prover, I would prefer the RF glasses that Curt sells as they have good reviews, just wondering, what resolution do you run your 3d at 720P 120hz and if so whats you horizontal scan and vertical scan rate on the 1292, just wondering as it may help me figure out if I can do 720p on my Ampro.

Your specs for the 1292, pretty good although we all know the manufacturers bump up their numbers, fH:15-135KHz, fV:38-150Hz); large signal bandwidth of 120MHz-3dB, the AMpro is almost the same but with Horizontal at 105KHz max and 100 BW.

I do 3D with 720p@120Hz. For 120Hz you need a horizontal scan rate of about 90kHz

horizontal scan is 105 kHz and vertical scan rate 150 kHz however there are a couple of other factors that mean that I would have to manipulate the porches to get it working at the res, thanks Prover.

Moome stated that I can use, 3D blu-ray player à Lumagen mini 3D à EXT V3 à AMPRO 4600.

I dont have a blu ray player I have a HTPC and a Lumagen mini 3d is expensive as I stated to Moome, the information was useful though.

I assume I should be able to use the HTPC instead of a blu ray lumagen combo as long as the pj is fed the correct signal with the correct porches etc, hopefully thats the case.

Hi there the glasses that are sold here work fine with the moome 1.4 external. I get ghosting on my necxg and I did not find the rf glasses any better than the samsung ir glasses.

thanks, thats a shame, if thats the case maybe a good set of IR glasses would be good enough.

keep in mind that you don`t need to be in line of sight with rf glasses unlike ir glasses.

That and possible interference make the RF a better choice I would have thought but I think I can live with those to issues if the quality is the same.

The line of sight is not really a problem with a good emitter but indeed the interference problem with IR remote controls is an issue Sad . Either you choose RF remote controls and iR glasses or vice versa Smile I have chosen a RF remote for the HTPC so at least for this IR interference is no problem any more.

Now I have tried out 720p at 120 ref on my gw900 Sony monitor but cannot see a setting for 1080i. So, should I output 1920 540p at 120?

these resolutions are accepted by EXT V3:

HDTV mode
480P 60HZ
576P 50HZ
720P 50HZ 59HZ 60Hz 120Hz
1080I 29HZ 30HZ 50HZ 59HZ 60HZ 96HZ 120Hz
1080P 50HZ 59HZ 60Hz 24HZ 25HZ 29.9HZ 30HZ
1035I 30HZ

3D mode
720P 100Hz, 120Hz
640X480 100Hz, 120Hz
800X600 100Hz, 120Hz
1024X768 100Hz, 120Hz

for 3D you are stuck with 720p@120Hz maximum.
1920x540 (1080i)@120Hz should work for normal HDTV with your setup also.

Thanks Prover, I may have a hvps problem, going to let the 3d wait a bit and sort the pj out before.
