Hey gang, we have a new guy with a low hour Runco-873, his primary use for it is 4:3 DVD. Currently running a Farodja line doubler c.1996.

He would like a video processor for scaling those DVD's to something like 1440x960 or even 1024x768, 72hz would be a plus. The player is an Oppo DVD.

I was thinking DVDO VP-50. Do you guys know off hand if it can do 72Hz? From what I can find online I see it can do 48Hz.

What would you guys recommend?

Budget is $400-500 bucks

No way will it scan that high, 720p max. The last Runco I sold (Runco 940) was limited to 1080i, 36Khz.

Interesting.

So what do you think then for 4:3 DVD? 1024x768?

THe DATA 701/708 will scan to 50Khz, not the Visions. Most of the sets I've parted out here are Visions. The Runco versions were all over the map from what I've seen.

According to the users manual:
Scan Frequency: 15-50 KHz (horizontal)
37-210 Hz (vertical)

So, I'm going to guess it will accept 1080i, and 720p and 1024x768@48 and 60Hz.

I'll have to try it from his DVD player
