If you decide on the Gamma X you can find it here...

http://www.curtpalme.com/GammaX.shtm

Personally I would build a ceiling mount for the 808.

Ok. But shouldn't I be worried with those 4 small screws that holds the long L plate?

How is image quality after signal is sent thru GammaX?

I had one of those, and sold it after about 30 seconds of trial. Compared to the gamma solution offered by Crescendo(https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=6860.html

Will the Crescendo convert the negative sync to positive just like the Gamma-X?

Are you happy with Crescendo?

I'm very happy with Crescendo, never had an issue with the converter.

I don't know about the synch thing, I just run mine and it works with my Barco ?

I am using the BUF2000 from Crescendo and it works great in combination with my HDFury I and my BG808. I use the BUF2000 as a cable driver, gamma adjustment, and the sync adjustment for my Barco. Here is my signal chain.

PS3 -> Yamaha 665 receiver -> HDFury I -> BUF2000 -> BG808

Tom,

Is this correct? I'll be using usb charger to pull +5 volts.

I didn't include the HDFury anymore but it will be in the chain.

If you are asking about the 5 volt USB power supply that should work just fine. I have both Kim's transcoder with gamma boost but I also have the Gamma X and I find the slider control far more handy then the small recessed slotted screw adjustment located at the rear which in my case is hard to get to.

Yes, it was the usb power supply. I learned that it has 2 wires. Everything is cleared now! Smile

I'll show pics once I complete my inverter.

Hi,

I'm unsure if it should be declared "Art" or "Technology".
Like Ash in the movie Alien said: " I admire its purity. A survivor... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality."
You might consider soldering a ceramic cap (0.1µF) across the power supply pins of the IC...

barclay66,

Ok, I will search about ceramic cap since I'm not familiar with it. I would like to redo it because the copper on the radioshack pc board detaches so easily. I need to find another board solution.

Thanks! Smile

Hi,

I think the PCB you're using is just fine. It's just that normally the components go on the other side so that their pins go through the drilled holes and are then soldered to the PCB's copper traces. If you do that to the connectors too you will get much more mechanical stability. I'd bend those wires flat onto the traces where they would be soldered on...

Regards,
