It would matter if R2 was suppose to be 47 ohms. But we're not sure if the prints we have are correct. Are you sure your R2 originally had a 270k resistor? I dont have a supply of that model number to check.

I can't find R94 on my HVPS either. Anyway, this is the photo as Athanasios request.

I do not have any H board issues. Everyting is fine after replacing a spare HVPS.

are you sure you put the new caps in right?
i see 2 new reds and 2 new yellows.
if those reds have the same value and those yellow caps then they are placed wrong.
on the right side the caps should be 0.47uf / minimal 600volt
can`t remember the value from memory for the other caps.

Hi,
It's actually orange and brown colour. However due to reflection, it seem like 2 red & 2 yellow.
The 2 caps on the right is .47uf while the other 2 on the left is 1.0uf.

At this point if you have verified you have all the correct parts in the correct places and still have a problem then you are going to have to test each part for value or function. You probably dont have to do the whole supply but without a exact print its hard to say specifically what you have to test and what you dont.
Add to that, even if you find 1 or more bad parts and the anomaly goes away, the supply should still be checked for actual output of both the G2 and Anode voltages or other serious problems can occur.

It's really best to avoid playing around in the HVPS for the most part, because in changing out parts in certain areas of the unit, the components would normally be labeled:
Critical Safety Components
This is an area of the unit or most HV sections of these types of devices, that the components were chosen based on specific requirements. These requirements are safety and radiation related. And to add, that only certain types of resistors should be used in these circuits, because not all resistors are high voltage rated, and would break down and could cause tube damage.
The noise that's appears to be related to these circuits, is not coming from the resistors. The measured noise on the G2 lines to the CRT's are coming from the high voltage section inside the potted section of the unit. It is at the same rate (frequency) that drives the high voltage multiplying stage and transformer.
So if trying to lower the noise on the G2 lines, you would have to filter the G2 using beads and or inductors that's rated at the frequency of the pulse that drive the transformer.
The only time to replace the 560K resistors, is if they have changed in value.
the original 34.9K units had 560K carbon resistors in it. the upgraded version used ceramics. And they had a version after that, where they went back to carbon. Go figure.

Dear All,
I have actually upgraded another set of HVPS using the correct resistor and the improvements was pretty obvious. The picture looks cleaner and the black look better too. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the picture quality and thanks to all of you.
However, I'm still sad that this HVPS problem is still not resolved yet. To send this unit for repair might not be the best solution as the shipping cost from Singapore to US and back to Singapore is too expensive.

It's possible that you damaged something in the potted area. If you can't get it going, I have a couple of Ultra HVPS here.. $350 plus shipping per HVPS.
