Hello dear Members...

First of all, sorry for my bad english......

I have a Barco Graphics 808s Date 1997...
I've buy it 2 years ago from a private seller. Till last week it works perfekt.
But now there no picture on the tubes.....
When i turn it on.... the blower are runnig and the LEDs of the tubes are green but there is no picture.

I don't know if it's the Quad, the EHT or something else....
The red LED on the EHT ist glowing red......
Here the PNs i could read.....
EHT R7617427
Quad R7722091

Yesterday i bought a Barco Data 808s which have a faillure too, in hope, that i can change some parts
to check out which part from my Graphics 808s are really damaged.
But the PNs from the Data 808s are differenz.
EHT R762716
Quad R762717

After i tryed to turn on the Data 808s which i bought yesterday i see that this projektor have the same faillure.
Blower are running, but there doesn't come any picture on the tubes.....
I don't know what to do..... which part parts are damaged ????

I need help.....

Greetings from germany

Oh...thats really difficult to say.......

Do you mean this sound when the Tubes are going warm up.....
The sound like electricity ??????

I'm not 100% sure...but i think the Data 808s makes this sound when i turn it on.
The electric bulbs on the ends of the tubes are glowing a little
How can i check it surer then only hearing ????

You should hear that crackling noise if the high voltage section is working. Do you have any Red LED's lit on any of the boards ?

to check if you have HV take the cover off and open the large door over the tubes, when you switch the projector on you should see a glow inside the back of the tube near the neck board attachment. this is safe as long as you keep your hands out of there while you do this Wink

PM Curt he might have one but don't confuse the filament being lit up to having HV to the CRT's...

That is the filament. No filament is always bad news for a CRT tube. It has nothing to do with high voltage.

I believe the answer is yes but you need to swap both the working EHT module and quad. Both need to match. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

Actually - in order to use the earlier style EHT and Quad in the late style chassis -
There is a jumper on the mother board near the EHT and quad connector
that must be moved. There is a Tech sheet on this site with this info.

This isn't difficult to accomplish, unless of course your Barco is on the ceiling.

There is also a compatibility chart which shows workable combinations.

Oops, I missed the line about the EHT light being on, Tom (and Galen ) are right the two parts need to be replaced as a pair- see this link;
http://www.curtpalme.com/docs/BarcoServiceBulletin_R762716_New_EHT.pdf
there is a fuse you can check on the EHT, a bad quad/splitter will usually light up the red LED on the focus board, you could have a bad deflection board or SMPS.
when you switch the power on do you hear any small sizzling or ticking noise back near the EHT area?

I looked for that tech sheet addressing the jumper change but never found it....

Is it in the service manual ?

I've just swapped the old style Quad to the Data 808s/E which has the new style quad......

It does't change anything..... The same faillure still are there.
With the old style Quad..... Both red LEDs on the EHT are buring.....

With the original new style Quad only the upper one was glowing....
