Beginning with Build 430, PowerStrip includes a hardware "orbiting" function that can help prevent screen burn-in. To enable this function:
1. PowerStrip menu > Options > Hotkey manager
2. Scroll thru list of functions and select "Toggle burn-in protection"
3. Assign the hotkey of your choice to this function

By default the function will move the screen 1 line every minute. If you have a graphics card that supports pixel based horizontal adjustment, the screen will also be moved 1 pixel horizontally, for a circular clockwise effect: 12:00, 1:30, 3:00, 4:30, 6:00, etc.

Now to configure the orbiter beyond the defaults:
1. Close PowerStrip if its running
2. Use Notepad to open the pstrip.ini file in your PowerStrip folder
3. Add the following lines:

[Global Options]
FlipIcons=0 ; reverse sorts desktop icons if set to 1 (Build 464 onwards)
AutoOrbit=1 ; enables the orbit automatically when PS starts
OrbitSpeed=60 ; number of seconds between screen movements
OrbitVertically=1 ; number of lines to move vertically
OrbitHorizontally=n ; number of pixels to move horizontally - defaults to 1 for Radeon, Parhelia, Kyro, and 0 (disable) for NVidia, SiS, et al., simply because the minimum for these latter GPUs is 8 pixels

4. Save back to disk
5. Restart PowerStrip
[/list]
Again: this runs in a separate idle priority thread so there should be zero impact on performance, and because the screen adjustments are between PowerStrip and the GPU directly, it should not interfere with other Windows or display driver functions (like screen savers).

I wonder if you set the range higher than 1, what path it would follow? E.g., v=h=4. Does it step each by 1, and traverse a clockwise circular motion? Or walk across then down, and back up again? Does it even matter? Very Happy

For those GPUs constrained to 8x multiples, I could still see some usefulness to an auto-h orbit of -8,0,+8 that changed once per day of use.
