Hi all I have ceiling mounted the Ampro and its been ok, however just recently the horizontal lines on the nokia test patterns show that all 3 tubes have thicker lines at the bottom and ghosting on the lines. Could the Horizontal supply or drive boards be a problem as its across all 3 tubes and not just one? I cannot get the camera to show this on phots of the tubes or screenshots, very annoying. Thanks for any help.

sounds like a mechanical focus (vertical lens flapping) issue that you possibly didn't notice before?

Its on all 3 tubes Draganm and it was not there before, lines are definitely thicker than they were about a month ago.

I've seen this on a MArquee before with high hours and it was weak capacitors on either the deflection modules or video neck-boards, can't remember which.
Since your image is painted from the top down what could be happening is the caps are becoming saturated and leaking prior to the point where they would normaly discharge. So your getting a progressive voltage drop to the coils or electron gun as the sweep approaches the end of the raster. The blanking on the back side between frames gives things time to re-set then the process repeats itself.
A quick check, reverse the scan on both H & V and see if the lines are now thicker at the top. Question

Hey thanks man, how do I reverse the scan>? On the Ampro there is a yoke interface card which has two cards on it, one is for horizontal sweep the other for vertical, do you want me to try and reverse these?
This will change my system to a front table setup. It would be stange for all three neck cards to go at once wouldnt it?

One is of the tube face the other the screen, both taken from the red obviously but all three tubes are the same. You can see the lines are thicker going up the tube face, or it looks that way to me.

The thick lines at the top photo? I could not get the camera to take a shot of the thinner lines above them for comparison sorry.

if that's the issue then that would be sometihng in the vertical sweep. Try reversing the V and see if the ghost image goes to the top of the solid line, page 131

http://www.curtpalme.com/docs/Ampro3600_4600_User.pdf

Also, could easily be oxidized connectors. A small bottle of brush-on Caig De-oxit fixes a lot of things.

the thick lines might go to the bottom of the tubeface or the top of the picture, but that doesn`t rule out that it might be a bad waveform arriving at the vertical deflection amp.
in that case i think the amp is ok.

just guessing here.

oh, pull out the focus module and see if the thickness of the lines are equal from top to bottom to rule my bad waveform theory out Cool

Why are you even posting this link. You need to stop posting misinformation. You create more confusion then help.
