Would like some feedback on this 9500LC ultra with start up problem after 1 hour run time. The HDM, cLM/DPB and pretty much everything else has been re-capped and tested in a different chassis and don't do this in a different machine. If you unplug the machine it will start back up and it will turn on/off for approx. an hour then it does this wierd oscillation which i'm pretty sure is the HDM before shutting down/ erroring out.
IT doesn't really prevent the machine from being used as you can simply flip a power strip after your done and it's good to go next time around but would like ot get this fixed if possible.

The owner checked the fans and says he feels like there's ample air coming from the card openings. AFA the LVPS, ran that here for a long time and didn't find any problems. He did have a bad HVPS which was causing the picture to blink in/out after 1 hour, a replacement fixed that but this other issue is still there.
I also checked the CLM/DPB board here but it's possible the problem might not show up in a different chassis. I think he will need to try a different DPB board from you guys as I don't have any spares here for the Ultra version. At least a small card like that will be cheap to mail, the power supplys sure weren't.

'Ample air' doesn't cut it. I had the middle belly fan die and it caused that. I felt air coming out of both the focus and HDM cages, and thought the fans were OK. Get him to pull the focus and HDM and physically look down the holes to check that all are spinning.

I'll have him contact either you or Tim for a different DPB.

Hello all, Dragan has been working on my projector over the last 5 months and he has been fantastic. He made me the HD Mod & fixed one problem by replacing the HVPS. But still this minor problem remains. He suggests trying a new DPB, at least its small and postage will be small too. Ive sent an email to curt.

the VDM has been replaced. all boards have been checked over, even the control board where the daughter board sits, so I doubt it is even that.

these things are furstrating as hell, It doesn't happen often but it can drive people crazy. i'm glad Marc was patient enough to deal with this until the PJ became useable/functional.
3 problems when we started with some kind of wierd convergence distortion that was fixed by HD mod's, the blinking in/out picture which was the HVPS, and this failure to turn back on. I am happy that after all that time and effort the PJ is useable, you need to flip a power strip after your done watching movies so it's ready to go next time, but something is still obviously not 100%.
Only thing that hasen't been checked and ran for hours in a different machine is Mobo and back-plane. That and a different DPB in combination with the current back-plane chip. I hope that's it.

I'd still have him try a different LVPS. I know it ran at your place for a while but remember your on US voltage . Even if he has a transformer to drop it down or just going at it with 220 the difference still might cause an issue, also its 50hz cycle not sure but maybe the circuitry in his LVPS only acts up with 50hz.
Just guessing here but at least that's out of the way.

50Hz no problem in Switzerland,
Frequency of 60 or 50hz normally will not cause this type of isue
Cheers
