Guys

Those look like split chassis simulator units, or halves of units, where are the electronics? What the hell is a Manakin lens?

I saw those, they are useless without the chassis, these are tubes only. No idea what that lens is either...

Nice find!

If someone grabs these for the tubes, I would be realllllly be interested in the lenses for my tests:

Here is a topic on AVS on a similar (or not) system with these lenses:

http://archive2.avsforum.com/avs-vb/archive/index.php/t-540020.html

...but have you seen the small corner focus range of the Manakin.1????

maybe if you can find the electronics for these it is really interesting.
i also think a regular hd10 will fit these.
this would be the ultimate blend, 3*909 22:9 format with a curved screen setup.
these units may have the pt22 tubes.

Yeah lot of unknowns with that lot from the condition of the tubes to the specs of the lenses. Hope the buyer has a stash of HD10f's or HQF900's, just in case those Manakins are very application specific.

....1025$. Congratulations - I hope the winner gets a mint system, and that he will post what he exactly found in the treasure box.
...and who cares about the tubes, data on the lenses would be great!

Best regards from Munich

Poor slob!

Three halves of projectors bought from a forklift dealer? The lenses are believed to be short-throw for spherical screens, useless for your home, so my buddy at SEOS sez.

a forklift dealer, lol.

i wanted to bid 500usd but it was shipping within the us only.

if they have minty lugs it is a super deal so do not go calling him a poor slob yet.

btw, who was it that bought these, i`d be surprised if it is someone not from this forum Mr. Green .

Thanks for the input! I have just received the HD10r5m (dome/spherical screens). I like them, but I really could need even more depth and a much shorter throw (8" LC machine with HD10 optical system - very long throw)! But that is for a home simulator and not home cinema, guess that was you point.
I know that it is useless, because I will never get a set of these, but if you buddy knows more about the curve/depth or their throw - this could help me to forget about them.

for your 8500LC the HD117-12 shows a throw of 1264mm to 1493mm, which is really pretty short.
HD10L is also for smaller screens, 1291mm to 1885mm throw.

HD10 series and HD117 series are not interchangeable. They use different C elements.

thanks, I remember now having that conversation in the FS Section when CJ was selling a set of 117's. Seems like there might be adapters for the 8500 though?

https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=24155.html

they certainly look like they fit an 8 inch tube

Hello,

and woooow!

I am not a noob on optics. I posted some (20%) of my test results (scroll down): https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=14049.html
...I have a machine in my basement with a Barco and a Sony 8" LC element, plus a 9" HD10 element - beside each other!
But I never had the idea to test the 117s (I have both, 117-12 and 117-24) with the HD10 element. It works!! Super short throw! My adapter was very clumsy for my first test, resulting in wrong Scheimpflug, so I will do more tests tomorrow. But I have seen all kinds of lenses not working with all elements (no joke, tested them all), but 117 lenses look like they work with the HD10 element.

Until soon

Marc

So it was me who got them....I had the advantage of going down to view them first. I never would have bid on them without that.
So, they are all Lug's one set is probably a 9 r/g/b That's going in my G90. I think these are the Boeing hi res units?? No Panasonic wording anywhere...maybe I'll see if G. Eisman can email me a pic of them....
The next set probably 7's a little unbalanced wear.....

The 3rd is pretty worn, some kind of text in there....

909 magnetics/neck cards although tubes being turned 90 degrees, I think the clocking on the neck cards is special to these??

Pretty cool units, only tubes, 2 fans and splitter in the box.

I'm betting that the C-elements are matched to these lenses........

When I get all of them disassembled, I'll be listing the focus Mg's and lenses in the classified's...

Good score! I was gonna drive down to check them out, but got too busy. I could use one set of yokes for my spare 909 chassis, PM me with a price when you have time. NO rush.
