I'm in the process of pulling my green CRT out of my NEC XG, I have everything taken care of up to the part where I remove the HV Lead from the splitter...

My question is, which direction do I turn it in to pull it off/how do I pull it off?? Embarassed

Like I said in the title... Dumb question of the day Razz

Pretty sure I just pulled it and it came off. Is that what you were looking for? Laughing

I just looked at the Barco 808 tube replacement directions and they tell you to leave the lens connected to the tube during replacement?! That seems crazy to me. I had the lenses off and it was pretty easy. Make sure you have marked where your magnets were so you can put them back on in the same spot!

I seem to remember it's push, turn counter-clockwise, then pull... or clockwise? But I haven't had an XG for years so this is a very hazy memory. Try the push/turn before you just yank too hard.

I must have forgot more than I remember about changing those tubes. It seemed like it was a pull...but maybe I was rushing. Oh well...mine has been working for 2 years since the change.
