I am curious if the point board from a plain PG is interchangeable with the newer one from the pg xtra?

Point just sucks on PG's. It's applied in the wrong part of the chain from what I remember reading.

When I had a PG I tried using point many times and it just drifts like mad. Utter waste of time.

I am pretty sure that they aren't interchangeable. I use point on my PG and it does a fine job as long I let the pj warm up before watching.

PG and PG Plus Point boards are interchangeable. Xtra is different.

Point can be used w/o any issue on any of the PGs, but only as the very last step in setup to dial out the remaining inaccuracies. Maybe the last 0.5 percent.
If you stick to that a PG will run with perfectly stable convergence.

What rot... My 9PG doesnt even drift from cold to warmed up, let alone any other time. Turn it on and its lined up as i set it right from stone cold, run it for many hours and its still exactly where i left it. Nothing moves unless i tell it to. If this was not the case with your PG, there was other issues present.
