New setup, Marquee 8500 ceiling mounted. Status page reads Horiz scan: Blue plug ? Vert scan: reversed. Projector works ( black is little greenish and white is a little pinkish ) with basic setup. Like to work out the bugs before getting serious.

For ceiling setup you need all deflection plugs reversed.

Here you can find the way of scan reversing, and the color temperature adjustment.

Red drive is too high (pink whites) and Green G2 is too high (green blacks). I have both basic and advanced set-up documents written that are easier to follow than the factory manual.

If your blue image isn't reversed on the screen, then you probably have the yoke on the tube neck rotated 180 degrees.

Thanks for the replies. I had checked all of the RGB connectors for proper placement and reversed polarity for ceiling mount. checked them again. Still OK. Curt I compared the yokes, they all looked the same. The wires all exit from the top. I am guessing thats what you mean. I pulled the Horiz. Def Bd and found one of the corner Pins bent over. I straightened it but it did not change any thing.

I'm still not clear in what the problem is here. So the machine is on the ceiling and both H + V plugs are reversed but the Blue image is inverted right?
2 things, I have seen the the stickers on the vertical plugs put on wrong from the factory more than once. With the "Rev scan" label actually on the side for floor mount configuration. Compare it to the other 2 plugs.
Second, the wires on the deflection yoke that should be pointing out away from the machine should be the thick Red/Blue leads to the Horizontal module. If it's the thinner green/yellow leads for the V amp then the yoke is upside down.

Hello
Do I understand correctly; the image is correct but the status page indicates blue H yoke is reversed?

Tim you got it. Draganm I am going by actual wire color and your probably right about the color set up, but I do not want to go through it till I get the base projector working. I have not nailed down my sources yet. I have a Moome VIM HD card, but it does not work completely correctly (do to drowning under 4 feet of muddy water along with my previous Marquee and equipment). I just got a good multi-standard decoder. What I need is to find out where the "status page" gets its information. (I think) I do have another clue, some times the 1st few pages of "source setup" instructions are just blocks instead of actual words. Any ideas ?

Hello
There are wire loops on each yoke plug to indicate polarity to the control board; make sure the loops are present the same way on all yoke plugs. Otherwise, your HDM or control board may have issues.

Tim I just checked the loops, all three plugs are identical. counted pins, reseated them and no change. May swap out the boards a little later as I do have a donar PJ. Thanks!

Hello
You may have a problem on the HDM, polarity sensing, or the white yoke couplers that the yoke connectors plug into, or the control board. I can test any components that you might want to send here to Phoenix.

Tim Guess what? I swapped out the CLM and my source setup wording came back. Still said Blue plug ? so I swapped out the HDM BINGO!! It says Horiz scan REVERSED and Vert scan REVERSED I thought It was working before hung it by it's toes on the ceiling so I guess I'll have to check those boards for some bad solder joints Thanks to Tim and everyone who answered my post!
