Hey kids!
My long time XG 135lc has the teenage snits at present and has raised my blood pressure enough to temporarily put it on a dolly in the corner of another room facing in the wrong direction for now. TBC.. Shocked

So I have installed a minty fresh tubed 1997 s/2. After about 5 movies (Bluray/Fury2 perfect pix) at turn on I have no blue and a dull red, green OK (Suspect the switcher card, grn led on?) Static issues Question
Pulled all cards and reinserted, now the same issue except red convergence is way out of range. BTW this s/2 has 29k hours, but fresh strong tubes and new Quad.( ***743) It still has good HV.

My source is fine as I tested it on an Ehome 9000 in another room.

I also have a newer 1998 1208 s/E with soso tubes awaiting a 22 caliber bullet out in the desert.., at 4K but a bad quadrupler (***833) with the matching EHT (***716 ) 2 red leds
I have barcos TB 980409/FVH

Options or can I ?

1 Just swap the switcher card ( haven,t compared the PCB #'s yet) Easiest single beer decision

2 Would like to transfer the complete MEC CRT assemblies(S/2 to the S/E) along with the working combination Quad 743/EHT427 to the newer S/E. I know you can,t swap The EHT with the Quad if the Part#,s are not a set, but in this case,
I would transfering an older working combo into the newer broken HV supply
If this is so, then it,s progress thru suffering and I can rest and have many beers for a job well done

3 Fix the XG (fails to sync to a signal and has been doing this off and on for about 3 yrs. Sometimes I can go for 6 months no issues, then it might take 5 to 20 minutes to sync, sometimes not at all and hence become unpredictable when you invite friends over... sounds like the system board but has worked OK although inconsistantly. Great great Picture!! I have a dedicated circuit to these PJ,s

4 Have a Ehome9000 and Ampro 4300 in another room that still have no issues! Who,d have thunk it!! Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Thumbs Up Just might put the Ehome in as this is the easiest move. has tight lines but not the Xg,s color. Looks like a RS 40/mini3D might just be around the corner

Regards
David

Block

I use the Fury2 with a Pioneer and sony Bluray players with no problems on the XG and it looks fantastic. I suspected a sync issue and not a system board failure since it comes and goes in no particular order but just don,t know who to blame.

Haven,t gotten around to the Barco yet as my work load is massive right now.

BTW the XG smokes the Barco on contrast and color gamut but then it doesn,t have colored elements and liquid coupling so it,s not a level playing field

you know I have a sync problem with a xbox running through an hdmi cord, tried several cords, not the cord, but the xbox itself, so may be just your sorce ,the blueray......... try using a different sorce If you can... my not be the projector at all..... If that don't work you might ask in the fury 2 forum about possable sync problems...I know my hdfury 1 theres a lot of issues that arrive with It but I think there primarally power problems and cable length...........
