CMS= Color Management System. This will have the tools to match Color, Greyscale and Gamma for each % value of White from 0-100% in 11 or 21 steps. This is a must i would honestly have to say.

in my own defense, i did a lot of work on CMS (Content management system) and it's evil sister DMS (Document management system) in my last job, and a bit in this job.Independant of that my wife's team just rolled out an XML based CMS system where she works. i'm pretty hardwired to think the C in CMS == content

too many TLA.

If you decide to buy/build a nicer machine that could use them, I would bundle the c-elements (or just the red) with the HD10Fs from the G90 I am parting out for $700 (or perhaps less with barter) including shipping. Of course, maybe Curt's massive batch of incoming PJs could yield something...like blending the two nicer runco 1100/barco 1292 units, for example!

Doesn't Curt have a decent set up of a 9500lc in his living room still? Go take a look at it. Based on the dollar signs being thrown around here I think you'd be better off getting a Marquee and spend more time enjoying movies than tweaking. You can spend your tweak time and money getting better tubes, red C, Vidkron case, etc... Wink

I'd personally never go back to an NEC now.

good points, but if i go with a single projector on the 110" screen (or 96" i haven't decided) it puts the CRT over the second row. a marquee with it's 17" drop from the ceiling means about 5.5' of head room above that row - too low for comfort or safety.

a pair of machines in a blend means that the CRT to screen distance is greatly reduced and the machines will be over the lower 1st row.

add in the full tubeface usage and the extra brightness of two machines and it starts to look real attractive.

i've never had to tweak my NEC that much. a little convergence here and there, but both the AC and the LC one are pretty much rock solid.

I enter the following evidence for your review:

Here are some shots I just took today. I keep hearing people thinking a 7' ceiling is too low and I want people to know that it isn't necessarily true.

I'm 6'1" and my projector at the lowest point is exactly 67" (5'7" from the ground). I've never come close to hitting my head. So long as the front of the projector isn't in front of the couch, you'll be just fine. It's not too low.

Also, if you listen to movies at a reasonable volume, I don't even notice the projector whirring away above me. My playstation makes more noise and it's in the tall cabinet by the stairs. Aslo, keep in mind I watch movies with my 18 month old boy able to stay asleep and his room which is at the top of the top of those stairs.

Now if you're one of those who locks their knees and just falls backwards onto the couch, you're gonna hit your head on it and there's no helping you... learn how to sit properly on a couch. Wink

It's taken 20 years, but I think I've gotten to the point where I CAN'T recite that movie line for line. I might just have to watch it again. <not kidding>

I still need to play the PS3 Ghostbuster game that came out a while back. I bought it and haven't played. Busy with Drakes Fortune 2 before # 3 comes out. I only get an hour every couple weeks so I gotta make my time count. One game at a time... one at a time. Hey, where's my Rum?!?! Oh wait nevermind, it was a wine night... Thumbs Up

So far, the lowest ceiling height installation I've seen is 6'9". At 5'6". I was eyeball to lense with the 1292Q. It looked a little unusal to say the least, but it worked very well. It was surprising how fast I forgot about the 1292Q above.

The kicker was there was a 5" tall riser for a second row. The front row was two seats with the second a three seater couch. 52x92" screen and the sightlines were good.

Thanks for getting us back on track Ted. Yes, you can do it with the Marquee. I still think you should go see Curt's if he's still got it in his living room. Red C's are out there. I think it took me 2 months to find one when I started actively looking for one. Depending on what you get from Curt, he might have one for you.
