That may well turn out to be the final space shuttle flight ever, BTW. The final one scheduled for this summer has not been funded yet. NASA claims it will go regardless, but one never knows.

Why do you think Tim, Mike and I are heading down? Funding will be provided, but the names will be changed on the shuttles to Martin, Parker and Palme, eh? Mr. Green

Sounds great to me. Those dates are a Sun thru Wed. I could spend the night one night, but not sure if I would do more than that.

The thing to remember about the shuttle launches is that they often don't go when they are scheduled. You might get lucky, though. There are alot of places to watch and they will all be mob scene. Plan on being there for a while.

Next week is not a good time to cruise by VDC. I'll be in Orlando taking a new (non CRT) projector through MIL-STD-461E testing ( http://www.ramayes.com/Data%20Files/Test%20Standards/MIL-STD-461E.pdf ). Incredably long, boring, and tedious EMI, radiation and suseptability testing. I'd rather have hemorrhoid surgery on a picnic table at a family reunion than go through this. Well, maybe not but it is close.

It is still early in the year so is not too hot. Pretty nice, now.

Scott

Regrettably no. VDC cannot free up the schedules of the people needed. Later this year perhaps.

I actually had it planned on being there for this one. I put in for the time off and everything. That sucks.

Hey y'all,

Cape Canaveral has stuff worth checking out. The Space Center is worth a look. It might not be around forever. They are clearing land on it for "industrial parks", now. Makes me wonder what else is coming.

VDC tours are iffy, I'm spending a fair amount of time in other places. No firm schedule on where and when. All my previous tours have been one or two people so to not arouse interest from the bosses. A large group will have to have permission. That might or might not be ok.

Don't kill off what sounds like a good time.

Scott
