I'll give the glue a shot. I think it's rather brilliant. I have about 1500 lp's, so I know I have a few in there to play with. As I also do luthier work, I have plenty of wood glue around. I will also say that it generally does not adhere to plastics, vinyl's or metals. I won't say that absolutely as I just don't recall it being an issue in the past like when attaching a pic guard.

That said, it is not uncommon for a wet wash to leave water or alcohol edge residue, even if it "blow dried." However, in theory, onve you've cleaned your record, it should be done forever. If you bring it out of it's sleeve to spin it and then return it to it's sleeve, it should be clean indefinitely, so the conern about longterm chemical reaction should be minimized; unless it is a concern about potential residue left by the glue and how that may affect the record over time.

Note: It is important to realize that not all records are made of plastic or vinyl. Acetate used to be popular as well as shellac and, especially for 45s, polystyrene. A lot of that will depend on the age of the record.
