Meet at craigr's place March 26th
G90 3D, Radiance XE 3D+, Oppo BDP-93
Come one come all...
If you are planning to attend, please send me an email craigr@cir-engineering.com In the email, give me your real name, phone number, and if you are planning to drive your car. I'll write back with my address and help with driving directions and parking instructions. I need to get a really good idea on how many folks are actually coming and I need to make sure I have enough parking permits for you all.
Right now the plan is to open my doors at 12:00 noon. I figure we'll watch, eat, and hang out until around 4:00 PM give or take a little.

May attend:
Mr & Mrs Mike Parker?
mc86?
Please let me know if you would like to attend and I will add you to the list I also have some clients who may come some of whom are long time lurkers here and on avs.[/color]
Near location:
So I want to have whoever is interested from the forums over for a meet at my place. The main thing is to show off the 3D experience on the G90 running the Radiance processor and Oppo BDP-93. I may also setup a G90 stack just for the meet and I may also show off dual projection mode with 3D where each projector is designated to one eye. We can also look at 2D stuff too.
So when is good for folks to come on by? I am thinking the beginning of March would be good, but if that is too soon we can put it off until the end of March. So what about Saturday March 5th? Or what about or Saturday April 2nd? Also, February 26th could work for me.
Right now I have 12 sets of Samsung 3D glasses so we can have plenty of people viewing at once. If you have Samsung glasses than please bring your own so that there are more to go around.
I am located in Chicago proper zip 60625.
Let's get this rolling
Kind regards,
Craig

Well make it after the snow is gone so no one has to call 'DIBS' on the parking spots.
I wish you were closer that would be something to see. Thanks for the invite.

Way cool, Craig! I wish I could make it, but a trip to Chicago for the weekend probably isn't in the cards for me in the next couple months.
One reason is because the central Iowa AVS group is doing an "HT crawl" on Sunday, April 10th... Of course, mine will be the lone CRT theater... Anyway - not to thread crap - I just thought I'd mention the date in case somebody like Adam (who's probably almost as close to Chicago as to Des Moines) might be able to make both.
The crawl is one reason I probably won't be able to make it... Lots to do. I don't know, though... Maybe I could make it. Would love to meet some of you guys and see the 3D setup. Maybe...
Cheers,
SC

I have a feeling I am being nudged. My ears were ringing and I wasn't sure why till I read this thread.

Big Dog;
Classes end on March 5. The other 3 weekends in March are already booked. After that I am a free man, able to control my own schedule.!!! I can do both (3D demo and CEDIA).

Uh oh, it sounds like there is going to be a big CRT contingent at Cedia this year. I was the only one at last years Cedia. Well, Crabb was there, but he had just gotten a divorce from both his wife and CRT. You should have seen the size of the ring he put around the lens of the JVC 4k.

Oh, now come ON!!! You make it sound like I was ready to kick my G70 to the curb. Not so at all! Digital projectors are just really starting to not look like ass, anymore! I'm also starting to really like the idea of box hanging from my ceiling that doesn't wreck the quiet parts of the movie - and watching it on a scope screen.
But, I'm still not ready to give up the rockin' blacks. Not yet, not in the near term. Unless an RS20 falls off a truck and lands in my driveway, it ain't happenin' anyway. No, it's glowing phosphor for the foreseeable future for me!
As for the JVC 4k... Yeah, that was full-on, pure videophile porn... I'd probably trade my left nut for it if there was any content to watch on it! But it doesn't matter... It's like looking at a Ferrari or a supermodel. They're lovely (lusty!) to look at, but I have no illusions about the likelihood that I'll ever be in the company of either for more than a fleeting moment or two. Or, who knows? Maybe I can pick one up at a surplus auction in 2031... A JVC 4k, that is - not a supermodel.

As a noob learning an 7"ES machine, I'd love to see this. While I doubt I could make it, am I welcome if I could? Maybe I could meet-up/tag-along with the VA guys (sorry, I don't know names yet...).
Matt, in Pittsburgh
