Getting old is heck! This is the first chance I have really had to sit down and reflect on last week-end.

Well, WOW is all I can say for the past weekend!

Craig, your set-up is DA-BOMB!!!! 3D is here; to stay (at least I hope so)! Your work is to be commended; BIG TIME! Period!!! I do not go to movie theaters anymore as I would rather watch at home. And listening to some of the other folks there that said that your HT was “better than 3D theater or IMAX” just reaffirmed my reasoning for not going to the regular theater.

Needless to say, the 3D work and the calibrations you have done are GREAT!!!

Funny thing is, some of the stuff we watched would never be on my “wish list” to watch. But after seeing the movies and clips on your set-up, well, I’ll watch them all day long! (Except for Coraline, which is my movie to go to sleep with; at least that’s what my wife says Embarassed )

WOW!!! Again, is all I can say!

Not to take away from the visual part, but, I was very impressed with your audio set-up. Not exactly sure what speakers and audio processing you were using, but I would like to know. The center channel audio dialog was really great! Very easy to hear at any level; I like it!

I did not get a chance to say, “Thanks” to you and your Virginia, but, please be rest assured I really appreciate you all opening your home to everyone for this and hope you will pass along to V.

I would also like to say “thanks” for the hands-on help for the fan mods. That is my next project and hopefully this weekend (if I get our taxes done Crying or Very sad ).

Anyways, it was great seeing the HT meet folks again, and a big thanks to doc for getting me in the g90 arena!

BTW, I still can’t understand how you guys do the soldering stuff you all do!!! Very nice!!!

Hope we can do this again real soon!!!!

Thanks Big Dog. I saw you call while I was driving on the PA Turnpike. Couldn't answer the call while driving. Got home about 10:45 and promptly passed out!!!

Got up Monday and thought "Heck, I don't feel so bad". Well, Monday afternoon rolled around and I felt like crap!

Heck! You should have rode back out this way and keep me company. Although, I might have been going a little slow for you "race car drivers". I only reached about 75 at the fastest. Laughing

I'll get some pics posted tonight.

Glad you posted Don because I was starting to get worried. Especially with your new tow.

Thanks for the props on the 3D and system too Wink The system is the product of 16 years worth of slow upgrading, and the 3D development was a lot of work getting figured out.

You are right though, the worst part at the moment is waiting for more 3D content. When football season starts it should get more interesting and DISH is showing Wimbledon in 3D this year. Also 3net should be cool for DTV subscribers... but for now I am happy looking at BD and just thinking WOW Smile

FYI the speakers are all Paradigm:
Reference Studio 100's
Signature CC-690
ADP-450 (four)
Servo-15 (two)

Amps are Acurus:
Two A250's for stereo
Two A300x3 for other five channels

All the front speakers are bi-amped with 12 AWG wire. This gives the left and right 500 watts each and the center 400 watts of real American built amplification Wink Surrounds get 200 watts each.

Preamp is the Integra 80.1 and we were listening to the Audyssey self calibration curve.

You saw the base traps that were on either side of the screen catty-corner. And there are 4' high corner base traps in the back. You also saw the rest of the nine absorbers around the room. I made them all with Owens Corning equivalent rigid fiberglass, framed, and covered.

You and everyone is welcome and V and I had a fun time. Maybe I should do a meet quarterly or something Smile

Man, I would like those mini monitors. My wife would love them in her music room for guitar and bass practice... Those are crazy good prices on all that stuff!

Craig,
You have most definitely built the "WOW factor"!!! Thumbs Up

And thats a lot of power for the speakers in general (IMHO anyways). But all I can say is it works! I am a big fan of horns for front speakers, but your set-up sounds really nice.

It would be really cool to watch/listen to some stuff like David Gilmour - Live @ RAH on them. Of course, I am hard of hearing (at least that is what I use for an excuse Laughing ) and the volume would need to be way up! Cliff knows what I am talking 'bout.

Quarterly meets? Yes Sir!!!! Give me a few months to get this new smoker going and we'll be smoking in the streets! Thumbs Up

I am really looking forward to you heading out this way to finish the fan mods and possible the "CIR'ed 3D Effect" on the G90!

Again, I really had a cool time! Looking forward to coming back out there for CEDIA and hopefully being able to swing by your place.

Thankfully, Cliff was there to help with this. It really is cool! The guy told us he had that installed so he could cook pigs without having anyone help lift the pig from the ice chest (or whatever will hold the rascal) onto the smoker slide out "stainless steel" cooking grates. I think that is sweet!

If all goes well, I would really like to do the whole pig thingy at Cliff's for the CEDIA meet later this year.

We'll see.
