Is this the Video/RGS switcher board as labeled in the pics? | good question? Is the "layout and set-up tips" of this web-site for the 808 misleading. It only shows port 3 input board, quad decoder, and RGB switcher. if it's just a switcher then it's not really a port is it? Or is this board the primary RGB input port 5, incorrectly labeled as just a switcher?

Yes its both switcher and input. The part number will identify it.

I'm not sure where to begin now... The problem seems worse. I pulled the port 3 and port 5 cards just to check and make sure there wasn't anything obviously wrong with them. Nothing obvious. Tonight, I went to play a blu-ray on the PS3... the PS3 menu was fine (sans the horizontal lines), some of the preview stuff was fine and so on... but when it got to the main content, inluding the movie menu, the screen just went blank. If I stopped playback, the PS3 menu came up again. Didn't matter what display settings I had for the PS3, the results were the same. Then, I finally jacked in a DVD player with an s-vid cable. Looked like crap, of course, with the extreme horizontal lines issue and the pin and keystone all beffuddled and all that I guess I might expect to see from 480p. That said, some of the content coming through the PS3 looked the same. So it would switch back and forth from HD to 480p or something. This hasn't been an issue before. I'm at a loss. I tried switching the input options (numeric 6 and so on) and that just resulted in "no input" or color temp changes... kind of what I expected... but all of them still had the horizontal lines. Why would having re-focused/converged everything mess everything up? It wasn't fine before that (hasn't been since I got this thing... and I brought it up then and was told all about input source and so on and tried all that and finally gave up because I just don't have the time as a solo employee at a youth center), but it was certainly a lot better. I never had problems getting some sort of an image with a blu-ray. Is there follow-up to the port 5 card being shot idea? Have I really screwed it up now and how did I manage to do that just by refocusing? Thanks to anyone with any input again.

More follow-up.
I also jacked a computer in and expanded the desktop via port 3 (9pin) and a direct 15 pin to rgbhv. Same results as all of the above.
While jacked in via rgbhv, I started changing the monitor 2 resolution. It's default was 1024x768. When I bumped it up to 1280x1024 or 1600x1200, the horizontal lines seemed to go away, albeit, it would certainly need a new convergance and focus, so maybe they'd come back? Should I have reconverged it all when I tried the s-video or other things as noted in my previous post?
Oh... and now there's a "curtain" effect along the top of the screen now too.... that's a new problem.
And just to add fire to the pan, the machine has blinked (flashed) at me periodically since I've had it. Seemed to go away, ironically, after I did my big refocus, only to come back after having pulled the board and reinstalling it.
I also just noticed that the HDFury 2 seems warmer/hotter than I would have expected. That said, I'm not sure I've ever handled it after having had it on for a couple of hours.

Did you change the RGB Input/Switcher board with another known good board? Its unlikely that you will locate a problem by looking at the board.

No, not yet. I was really just doing the basic check to make sure there were no obvious ribbons detached, it was seated properly, not obvious broken solders etc. I didn't expect to find anything, just a trouble shooting bit we use in the audio industry. I'm great with recording albums, don't understand as much about giant projectors
I;m starting to become more concerned about this whole PS3 not playing blu-ray through the HDFury 2 anymore concept. There seem to be others who are running into this issue as well. i might start a new thread on it.
