hi everyone,

i've also sent an email to curt regarding this. just looking for a quick answer, thats all...

i've just purchased a cine 8 from curt and let it sit for 24hrs (international shipping). i just got home to fire it up and cannot see a picture. i look down into the lenses and can see a fuzzy image slightly flickering at the bottom of each phosphor? do i need to center the image? its flicking around which gives me the impression it may be something else. i've read all the help pages on the main site and cant find anything relating to this issue?

i just want to get an image and test it works ok...

any advice would be great.

thanks for your time!

regards,

justin

What you are seeing is pretty much normal for a Barco when the input is not recognized by the projector. What type of input are you using, from what device and at what resolution and refresh rate ? Try pushing TEXT on the remote and what does the OSD say on the projector ?

Pushing the ADJ button on the remote should bring up the setup menu OSD ....

hey,

thanks for the quick reply.

i just powered it up again and at the start the green phosphor displays what looks like a menu, then it dissapears to the bottom of the phosphor and is all fuzzy.

i tried with and without a video signal, both the same result. fuzzy image off the phosphor face...

i used the vga to 5 bnc that curt sent me and flipped the h and v cables just incase i got them wrong... the image is coming from a laptop at different resolutions and still the same thing.

i pressed text like you said and cant read what the green tube is displaying because its shifted off the phosphor?

theres no arcing and its just humming along quietly.

ok i guess you can disregard the above. it takes a few seconds but after pressing the adj button on the remote i get a visible but out of focus menu for image processing and something else.

i took off the blue lens and found the image isnt spread across the phosphor and is trapezoid in shape? how am i going to straighten this out? i can see the test pattern now i'll just have to refer to the detailed guides on the main site.

thanks for your assistance!

It's normal, you have to adjust every input signal separately.

Read owner manual first.
http://www.curtpalme.com/docs/BarcoCine8_User.pdf

First adjust installation menu to get mechanical adjustments done and then run guided menu through and fix with random access.

When you have learn whole process, random access is only menu you will need to get all adjustments done. Wink

so i adjusted the v shift of the red and blue to make the installation menu crosshair white. went to the vga laptop source and the red and blue are way off...

how do i stop the skewing of the image on the raster for the red and blue?

the picture from the blue raster is like this;

___
\__\

instead of square like this

___
|__|

and how would i reset each board?

thanks for your time guys! alot more tweaking than i imagined. alot to swallow!

It seem to work just it should be. Very Happy

Adjustments made in installation menu doesn't affect to source memory blocks, because it's meant to be used for installing projector mechanically without source.

Red and blue should be somewhat skewed at tubes face, because those are projected off center line. Final shape can be seen when you are made convergence adjustments.
