Looks like we lost analog boys....

The question is why would you need a Fury 4 if you cannot use or watch it on your analog CRT projector or display ?

04 January 2011 : Happy new year 2K11

We hope you had a great new year celebration. Here is a quick update since there was lot of activities around HDfury lately.
- HDfury is now an official HDMI.org member. (see here: http://www.hdmi.org/learningcenter/adopters_founders.aspx#I)
- HDfury is now an official HDCP member (see here: http://www.digital-cp.com/about_dcp/List)
- New design of HDfury is currently underway, this design is 100% compliant to HDCP request since it won’t allow analog output if HDCP is activated. That new design will also feature an USB updatable firmware and an open-source code available.
- Upscaler design is currently implemented within HDfury4 design and we hope that it will be available during 2K11.
- Support forum moved back from Curtpalme.com to HDfury.com.
Finally, we wish a great HD experience in year 2K11 to our fan base. Team HDfury will be there up and running the HD show continuously in 2K11. Confused

Forgive my stupidity....What does it do if it doesn't have analog out?

I think what they are telling you Tom is that you will be able to flash the firmware and it will then output analog. However it wont be advertised that way and the firmware wont be available from them directly.

I hope you are correct but will that not nullify their keys and or license ? Confused

Not if they are not directly tied to the firmware.

If they release the source code like you say they are, then anyone with the knowledge can figure out how to circumvent it. Even if they did it, they could still say that someone else could very easily of done it and it wasn't them, removing them from blame. Adding a USB to update the firmware makes it very simple and sounds to me like plans are being made.

Then its just a matter of JTAG. 6 to 1, half a dozen of the other. If its firmware controlled it can be altered.

Perhaps I'm missing something.
If you already have any of the older fury's, who really gives a $hit. I don't think they can be shut off and most of us already have our HDMI solutions in place. If you are sitting on any of the older Fury's, they have found new value Wink
