|
|
I'm seeing a lot of post about tools needed for setting up the Marquee 9500's. I am going to try to make a list of what you will need. It will cover Basic set-up and some for the more advance procedures.
Basic set-up
1] 7/16th wrench, long handled, to allow lenses to move.
2] 3/16th Allen wrench or Allen bit again for the lense alignment.
3] 9/64th Allen wrench or bit to remove the lenses to check image on tube face. [This is best if it is 9 or more inches long]
Advance Procedures
All of the above tools and the following
1] #2 Philips screw driver to remove Side covers, Top covers, and shields for the Magnetics on the tubes, and Neckboard cages.
2] 7/64th Allen Wrench for the Bellows screws
3] 3/64th Allen Wrench for the Glycol fill screws.
4] 3mm Allen wrench for Focus coil collar
5] The width coil tool is a hex allen plastic 0.10", do not use metal tools for width slugs on HDM
Also depending on build year the size of these bolts and screws may be different.
Also some over zealous previous owners may have use Torx bits as a poor substitute and striped some of them too.
This should be the majority of the "weird sizes" that are somewhat specialized and not usually found in most common tool sets.
Guys please feel free to fill in anything I missed.
Edit [I'll just add the correction as we go and not respond in the thread to keep it short].

I did a quick search online and came up empty. So I have to ask, where would one find a "hex allen plastic 0.10""?
Thanks,
James
