I have an SD camcorder that does 16:9 anamorphic. It looks fine over here but when I upload to you tube it get's squished into a 4:3 window. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

What kind of file comes right off the camera, and what kind of file are you submitting to YouTube, Jeremy?
Is it a DV camera?

It's DV converted to DVD on my Pioneer DVD recorder because this PC lacks firewire. So it's Mpeg2 VOB file

Ah, OK. Try using Handbrake, rip to high bitrate widescreen MP4, and submit that to YouTube. Thatll be square pixels and should work.

Found a hacked version that will run on netbooks. It says it will take over 3400 hours to re-encode a 400mb video I really hope that's like the counter in an Ampro

Oh, geez... Netbook, eh? Argghhh...
I think you're going need to run the video through something to spit out a file with square pixels... YouTube likes the square pixels. Unfortunately, that's about the extent of the help I can give.
How long is the video, and what processor does the netbook have in it?

You still using those squarish Beta tapes? The answer is obvious, use the more rectangular VHS ones.

Hmmm didn't think of that. The aspect ratio of the tape, let's see VHS is almost 2:1, Betamax more of an 1.85:1
