|
|
Please help. Code 37. All fans move freely and spin on turn on. Projo shuts off immediately. After the fault, I have replaced each fan one by one with a known good fan. Each time I get the same code.
I haven't used this g70 in six years. It has beautiful, zero-wear tubes. I want to do 3d with this projector but I dont want to throw too much money at a h.o.j! Please help. I will even consider a bypass. Thanks

I'm curious, how do you know the replacement fans were good? You have a spare projector?

Just as a data point, when I had a bad fan that didn't spin up, it took the projector about a second or so after startup to shut back down. When you say the projector shuts off immediately, how long is it?
I was looking the service manual, and it seems like there's a fourth fan referenced... I assume it's at the rear of the projector, but I don't recall seeing one... I only know the three behind the neckboards. Is there a fourth, Mac?
Oh, and what's an "h.o.j."?

Oh, hahaha... Well, in that case, I'll happily take that HOJ off his hands... For no charge!

I have a brand new Silenx fan that I used to test each position. And yes, it shuts off after about one second. You can see all fans spin during that time. It was just working fine. It is celing mounted near perfect. I got the screen just right. Getting ready to converge and now this!
I luv my G70. It commands respect from those that enter but I need an image to show 'em. Is there a way to bypass the shut down? Like I said, I know the fans work. Thanks

Well first thing is, does the silenx fan have a sense circuit?
Is there +15v on one of the fan wires at startup?
Edit: oh, you said they spin up on startup.
SC: where in the manual do you see a 4th fan?

Oh, and I wont discuss how to disable the fan circuit. To many smoked parts running without a fan.

Well if your +15v supply is there, and your fans spin up, AND the sense is working on all 3 fans, then you have a problem with the fan sense circuit on the MR board or YB board....or connection in between.
Edit: corrected MF to MR board.

That because it's not there

I figured... I just thought it was weird what I saw... I just glanced at the service manual for about 30 seconds and I didn't even zoom in, so obviously I misread it.
