As a Yank, even the Canadian versions of American companies from on us (yanks).
I just tried to buy three Blu-ray movies on Amazon.ca and being that I do not have an account setup for use on Amazon.ca I tried to create one. Unfortunately, you must have a Canadian postal address to create an account on Amazon.ca.
Being that Canadian anything means to prejudice again anything Yankee it means I need to find another means to get what I, and the wife, want. So, I need to know if anyone like AR, Curt, or some other Canadian might take a bribe, purchase these three BD titles, and then ship them off to me snail mail?
The titles are:
Spawn
Renaissance
The Cell
I supposed I could also add someone's postal address to the credit card I would be using to simply the purchase and just ask someone to handle the postal shipment to the states. Anyone game? I'll even through in my first born!

Darn, I was hoping someone north of the border would be willing to help me out. Ok, no problem. Now I'll have to go eat crow in front of the wife and tell her I have no friends in Canada.

i am curious - what does getting the items through amazon.ca get you that amazon.com doesn't get you?

Dave | When I went to create an account on Amazon.ca it asked me to specify a Canadian address, which I didn't have. I had no means of specifying a USA address. I tried to look for a means to create an account without having something in the Proceed to Checkout channel, but failed. As such, the only way to move forward was to create an account using a bogus address in Canada, or find someone else to work (bribe) with.
Mind you I am all for bribing folks for assistance.

That's funny, I have ordered from both Amazon.ca and Amazon.com without any issues and I get update reminders on new movie issues from both on a regular basis. Might be worth checking Amazon.ca cross-border policy on a more detailed basis. With few exceptions, no problem Amazon.com shipping stuff to Canada.
As a follow-up, their website states they DO ship internationally and have specified shipping rates to the US. Can't you order without having to create an account?

Ok, taking the credentials from the Amazon.com account I was able to use them on Amazon.ca just fine. It even automatically recognized the International address and calculated the cost, in Canadian dollars, too. Kudos! Total cost for the order including shipping was US$48. Now let's just see how long customs holds them up.

I can say that ordering from Amazon.ca was much more responsive than Amazon.com. DHL already has my order between Ohio and Atlanta. My Amazon.com orders that I placed 2-3 business days before the Canadian order haven't shipped yet, and these are on goods Amazon itself was selling and was also in stock. American slackers!

Amazon.ca compared to .com has terrible customer support and slow shipping. No idea why but being the same company you'd think they'd be at the same level of their US counterparts. I just wish Amazon.com would ship certain items like tools. I could have saved $100 on my Makita 9227C buffer. The dollar may be on par but the US is still getting some stuff way too cheap.

Iwas going to say my Amazon account works on both sites. I had to laugh when I saw this because Amazon.com has so much more to offer. I rarely use the .ca. Most times I can even get stuff cheaper on .com even with extra shipping.
As far as shipping time, I'd guess 7-10 business days from when they say it ships. That's how long it takes me to get most items from .com Including weekends, roughly 2 weeks from ordering.

Well, DHL didn't deliver yesterday, but I'm guessing the road conditions speak for themselves.

DHL just delivered the order. Amazingly, the BD order I placed with .com 3-4 business days ago hasn't even made ready to ship. Jeez
