Going to have to look into the temperature compensation of the thompsons so we can add that.
resistance measurement shows 20k. probably just a NPT resistor.

Did you have a look at this and if so what did you come up with? Couldn't find anything in this thread.

Thanks,

Terry

What type of yoke does the G90 use? Someone needs to study that one, I bet it would focus even better than anything else.

I'll try them too but the supply of those is no better, even fewer of those are around. In fact I have never seen any available.

I've never even seen burned G90 tubes available before. Matter of fact, I've never seen *any* G90 parts available. People still sell the sets whole rather than part them out.

Hi all,
it's a lot of time I'm on this forum but only as lurker, now it's time to post my first message!
I'm interested to do the Frankenjokes mod on my 8500 so this thread is very useful for me... question is: am I the only one that is not able to see CJ's photos in the first page or it's a common problem (maybe Photobucket deleted them)?
Many thanks in advance and hello to all again!
Ciao

Angelo

OK , I'll do it.
to carry it that step further I'd like to also try a yoke from a G90 and a G70.
anybody have one (or three) of those I could play with? donation to the cause.

Nope. Neck sizes are the same for 9" and 8" Marquee's. Sad

Terry

I assume you meant the p19 9 inch tube.

Well if the yoke from a G70 is too small to fit onto the neck of a marquee tube, then that option is out. that makes that easy enough.

how about a g90 yoke? I bet spares of those are as rare as hens teeth.

Hahah, I was serious, Man! I bet you $20 that you will make money if you do this. Take out a loan for $6K to buy a toasted G90, then part it out and you'll have spare cash & focus yokes left over afterwards!

No doubt in the world that G90 parts will go super fast and for super high prices. Just make sure to market the parts first, since nobody is used to even looking for them, since they just aren't available.

Made a drawing of the harness required. I'll post it latter.
in short it was an improvement. Dot shape is better and raster centering is better.
didn't have to mode deflection coils at all.

Going to have to look into the temperature compensation of the thompsons so we can add that.
resistance measurement shows 20k. probably just a NPT resistor.

Better late than never. Attached is some information on the Thompson focus mags and the temp co thermistor.
