I think the intel GMA is a Notebook Graphics card?
The Problem is that via RGBHV you cannot recieve EID (ore something called simmilar), that are information which the Display normaly sends to your graphics Card. When you card did not recive those information its a little bit luck if you can choose 1080p.
The next problem is, that the signal quality of onboard Cards is realy crappy. Even my IBM Thinkpad (ok mabe it is not even?) has a washed out picture via the VGA Port. So it might be not a good way to compare with a bad source.

thanks for all | Push recall to see which recall memory your on for 1080i. Now go into into utility's menu and create a different channel for 1080P. A channel is an input (RGBHV = Input 01) + a recall memory. Choose a channel at any time by pushing 1-enter,2-enter etc.
you will need to set up your new channel for 1080P with size, convergence, etc. because it will be different from 1080i.
what you really need though is a Moome HMDI card, RGB from a PC is never more than mediocre

This is wrong in my eyes, there are good analougue outputs out of graphic cards.
I tried a lot with my old CRT (Yamaha 22) and got realy good ones on resolution bejond Full HD.
The limitation of the old amplifiers of the 9000 would be more important, so it is not so difficult be in top of the quality of an Marquee with a midpriced graphics card.
But Notebook chips and onboard Cards are really not good desinged!
