|
|
Hi, Curt wrote me, that a Quadropler out of an 800 Maschine do electricaly work in an 700.
My question is, how big are the mechanical differences between the 800 and the 700 Quadropler?
When the Quadropler fails, is it a right idea to change the Splitter too (HV calibration?).
Greetings from Berlin (especially in a train from Frankfurth to Berlin) Stefan

hi, if you get stuck I have a Barco 701 here I'm parting out including ceiling mount. HV section works fine, has some kind of problem with video image, split screen /scrambled picture. No remote but really nice tubes.

Man, it must be Barco Day. 5 consecutive posts in 5 unrelated Barco threads within less than an hour... (More than 5 posts, actually, since e.g. all the posts in this thread were in the same hour!)

So, do anyone has got photos of a Barco 700 Quadropler and some of an 800 Quadropler?
A servicemanual of an 700 would be nice to, because i just noticed a few very hard driven resistors on the input board.
I am not able read the valures, all marks are burned.

Stefan | if there's other bad parts in there, then my concern would be is if you put in a new quad you could blow it up too. the smart thing to do is replace the entire power supply tray with a known good working one. $100. + shipping seems pretty fair to me for a low hour power supply. heck, i'll even move the 120V/220v jumper over to the right spot

No, but electrically they are the same. There's lots of room in an 800 to put a 700 quad, btu not the other way around.

100Bugs + Shipping is a lot of money for an old barco 700. I bought for a friend a Barco 701 with only a few ours on the T 180 tubes for 10€. Shipment cost 40€. The Barco i had here is only for fun, so give me a few days to think about investing thins money. I know that when you not need a PJ its very cheap to buy.
I found the picture below in the www. I think the 808 one is the Quad of my Barco to (7622091), but wich one is build in the Barco 800? If it is the 1209 one, i can use the bootom plate of my xxx91 one and drill a whole for the HV cables into my chassis.

Hey that's my pic.
Funny how the world goes round.
I think the 800 will be like the 1209 fitting
If that is the case you will have to loose the lugs off the side by sawing the em off and use the old metal plate from your existing 700 quad
If its the same as the 808 in the pic above you might have to drill a hole in the metal chassis of the power supply as there won't be enough room to use spacers and you mustn't crush the eht leads
