Anyone installed one of Directv's new HD receivers and using it one their CRT's via Moome or HDFury units. According to the advertising bumf they are broadcasting some programming in 1080P/24. How will our CRT's handle this signal? I'm assuming unless there is a 1080P/60 option we won't see the benefits unless there's a video processor inline converting the 24Hz signal to 60 or 72Hz.

Just wondering if anyone has gone down this route yet as I don't want to commit to a 24 month contract if I don't get full 1080P signal. I currently have FIOS but am tired of waiting for a 1080P compatible service which the G90 is setup to run.

Yes they are, but, you need an internet hookup to the dvr to take advantage of this. I think you will need a vp to bump it up to 72hz my 9500 does not like or lock on to 24hz. They also are boadcasting 3D programing, but, my dvr does not see my moome card and will not allow the 3D. Don't know if the moome card needs an update for this.

Not a problem. I'll be keeping the FIOS internet connection.

So this isn't a plug and play solution. I tried 1080P/24 out of the PS3 and the G90, not surprisingly, wouldn't sync. I guess the D* option only make sense if I have a vp eg Radiance XS+ doing the conversion, which isn't going to happen any time soon.

No radiance needed. You can pick up an older Lumagen HDQ or HDP PRO that will convert 1080p24 to 1080p60 over HDMI. 72hz is only on the rgbhv on the HDQ at 1080i I think, the HDP pro I think not, I've never tried though.

Both can be found under $550.
