Guys!

I have a device here that is spring-loaded and straddles a DIP IC with pins sticking up, so you can clip your scope probe or voltmeter to the pins. Is there such a clip made for surface mount ICs? It occurs to me that putting 3 volts onto IC17 would let one replace Marquee lithium control board batteries without losing the settings. Without a clip it would be necessary to solder leads to the pins on the IC itself.. The pads for the battery do not lend themselves to trying to solder there. I have been trying to get Librarian and VDC loader to run on my laptop and they are giving me fits........

What USb to RS 232 adaptor are you using for the marquee loader program?

Uh, none. A 9 pin cable both ends should work, but the error comes back "projector not responding". My laptop talks to the DVX processor okay, so I am stumped.

Is this a cable you used before? There are several 9 pin cables, straight through and null, and the null one has a number of configurations, If it's an old cable, check the continuity, if it's a new one, it might not be configured correctly.
