Is it bad for the PJ that i got it plugged all the time? The thing is, that the heating voltage is always on (but dimmed)?
Does this have a bad effects on the Tubes?

There is no reason to leave a Marquee in standby in a home theater, for more then 30 minutes while your futzing with something,or getting a drink. Otherwise Power down, and restart it when you get back.

I realised that the Standbybutton does something different, only the Picture get black. The thing i whant to find out is that the fans in the Powersupply are still running when it is switched of. The Heater Voltage seems to be on to, cause of the red glowing i can see.
The Plug in Time is not counted. The Hour meter says: Tubes on 1683h and 791h in standby. Otherwise the counter must be very much higher.
The Question is if its bad to have the PJ plugged in.

Ok the Marquee is different then most other projectors even when powered off the Low Voltage power supply receives about 4 volts and the fans on LVPS will run.
This is just how marquees work. The only way to stop all power consumption on a Marquee is to unplug it... or use a power strip bar with a switch. Many people here do just that....but it's not really necessary.

At 4 volts the heater is only warm. Not warm enough to affect emissions life at all. No emissions occur at 4 volts to the cathode. Or, not enough to be worth mentioning.
However, I always unplug my Marquee when I'm not watching it because it's hung in a bedroom. MINE. I don't desire to hear that fan running all the time, even though it's actually quieter than my ceiling fan.
The only advantage to keeping the unit plugged in is that it will reduce filament warm-up time by a couple of seconds. That's fine if
you are suddenly in a big hurry to turn the set on and see what's going on. But most people don't really need that fast a warm-up time.
Another thing: When it's unplugged it can't get hit with a power surge via the power line. I live in Florida and especially in the summer
we do get a lot of thunderstorms and PLENTY of lightning. I take precautions to protect my equipment against lightning strikes, and first
among those precautions is to unplug everything I want to keep working when a storm approaches.

I recently acquired a Marquee 8500, the tubefaces look like they are in perfect condition, just pristine white with no coloration or burning, but the picture is so dim on blue and especially green you cannot see it projecting. You can look right into the lens and barely see it. I checked the hours and it has 3922 hrs with CRTs on and a huge 74985 hrs in standby. It came from a University where it must have been left plugged in but not running for ten years(?). Looking through the threads I believe I've found the answer that the guns on the CRTs can be worn out from the low voltage that's left on in standby while leaving the tubefaces mint, but I wanted to see if anyone had any other input, or if I must just accept that I will not be able to get this running without somehow finding new tubes. It is the 8501 model but the ACON was removed and the tubes are P43 phosphor. It was used in some kind of 3D implementation at some point. I can post pictures if anyone is interested.

Well, that is an extreme example of standby hours, and you are likely
the recipient of worn cathode tubes. Certainly it would be good to check
P14 voltage (heater) but with that standby hour count there's not much hope for
the tubes. I have some pristine and tested tubes for that PJ available, PM if interested.
Best in general to power off the Marquee completely, no real benefit for HT
use to leave it in standby mode. Just sucking in dust and wearing out the
heaters, cathodes, fans etc...Maybe that was good idea for industrial
applications, but not something used on other PJ's such as Barco, etc.

I think some people missunderstood the word Standby. Cause the PJ still need a lot of power.
In my university is a 1292 installed in the celling. Its never been used, cause noone is able to setup the convergence. In 10 Years 20W Standby is even a lot of power. I hope i can get this PJ.

I had luck and payed 300€ for Tubes on the us ebay. But its not so easy to get tubes for a good price, most times it seemed to me that its not worth enought to buy new tubes.
The Problem are the cuple of standby hours, the PJ is still running but with a black immage. So every part of your PJ is stressed for 70k ours. I know it from a 7k maschine, that you lost sharpness when all parts get older.

Yeah I was pretty surprised to see 70k, the electronics look like they are in good shape. I'm sure there are some posts in these forums that can tell me what to look for after that much use.

with the contrast/brightness up to 100 I was able to make out the green image enough when looking straight down the lens , that I could decipher the menu after flipping the vertical scan. I went and turned the G2 and drive all the way up on the green and blue, which helped the blue significantly, but still not enough. It helped the green too, but not enough. I've also rotated the neck boards between the three which produced no change, and I unplugged and replugged almost everything to see if there were any loose connections, with no change resulting. It just seems like such a waste of good equipment to have it wear out on standby... This is a really exciting projector coming from a D50 and having the extra bandwidth to play around with.

I tested and got 6.42 on, and 3.92 in standby. I know there's a thread on what's too high of a voltage for P14.

Is this thing of running power to the heater in standby another quirk of the Marquee? I have never run across this on other projectors or RPTV's.

6.42 is too high id think. I forgot what stand by was but 3.92 seems fine and really nothing over 4.3 will cause much wear at all. The reason they have voltage on standby is for quicker start up.
Sure Marquees have quirks but they also had the highest MTBF in the industry.

What is MTBF?
